Debbie Haskell is a great teacher. Students should not fault the teacher because they did not put any effort into the class or their papers. She was more than willing to help. Every student who was struggling in the class had poor attendance, did not participate in classroom discussions, study for tests or turn papers in on time.

She is a great teacher and a wonderful Christian woman. She is no longer at Rochester College. She was willing to work with me one on one when I was having difficulty in her Linguistics class. The students that left negative comments missed out on getting to know a great teacher. I hope they will go into future courses with an open mind.

Had Ms. Haskell for COMP A. I think she got a bad rap because she was teaching college level writing skills and many students (in my class) still had trouble writing coherent sentences and paragraphs. When she graded papers, she was being as merciful as possible, but still a lot of people took it personally if they didn't do so well.

There is no real nice way to say this... she is condensing... and it is insulting to others. I agree she has the knowledge I respect that ,however,what good is when she doesn't now how to share it with others in a way that is dignify and liberating. She need to realize that she has a gift that is not hers, but God's and it is to be used to serve ot

Perhaps #7 has ego problems. Yes, she does have an elementary/high-school teaching style at times, but if you get bogged down with that instead of coming there to learn and improve your writing, that's your problem. At first she was unclear with what she wanted in her papers, but gradually she fleshed out how to write a proper, college-level paper.

Deb Haskell is such a sweet woman that I feel horrible leaving a negative review, but I always left her class feeling that she would be better suited teaching kindergarden. The problem isn't that she lacks competence - she simply does not know how to interact with 20-somethings.

I took this class two years ago. She may sound like she is talking down to you in class, but it is just her style. Take advantage of her office hours, and you will see improvement of your papers. She can be tough on grammar and format, so I would highly advise other students to proofread thoroughly.
