She talks a lot. At first you think it is all pointless and while you are enrolled in her class you hate it; but then, when you look back, you realize that you learned a lot. Also, she's kinda cute. Her face somewhat looks like Dory from "Finding Nemo," though; but she's still pretty cute.

Comment:

When I first met Deborah, I thought she looked kinda good. She was also very energetic and seemed like she really cared. However, she sends such mixed signals. She is never really clear on what she wants from you. I think she spends too much time on making your work to what she likes and to her personal feminist style, although other professors are much worse. UCI's art program is almost like Feminism 101. She is such a tough grader, but I feel that at least she tried.

this chick sends COMPLETELY mixed signals... one minute you think you're doing fine; she's encouraging, she give you positive feedback, then POW! she screws you over with a C+ and tells you the negative feedback AFTER it's too late. kiss her ass and you'll be sure to do well. Do that responsibly, though. She will hate you if you're not subtle there

i have had deborah as an instructor for an entire year and I have to say that in the beginning I did not like her. However I realized that she is really smart and knows exactly what she is doing. I really enjoyed her class, she is exemplary of an instructor who really cares about her students. Speak up in class and you will learn.

I never thought I'd get an A in a class where I did basically nothing and got bored. This chick loves to talk. She nods A LOT. She is cool. She is boring only when she goes on a tangent and the critiques are useless; but overall, she is very helpful. On the downside, she is too demanding during critiques. I doubt anyone can talk as much as she can.

OMG i swear this class. it is BORING. people tend to fall asleep ALL THE TIME. sometimes she tries to make themes interesting, but sometimes its hard to follow what she is saying, its like she goes on a tangent, and she confuses the project ideas, they seem simple, but she complicates them

This was a difficult class, especially because I was not an art major. However, I personally felt that she helped me the best she could. Class was long and boring, but she as a teacher was cool and laid back. She gave me a B+ and my projects sucked! Just show her effort and it should pay off.

She's like one of those artsy people who think a picture of a red rectangle has underlying meanings about women's rights or something... I either hated or was ok with the class at any given moment. Class is REALLY long and boring most of the time, as are the really unhelpful critiques.

She doesn’t like to give “A”s, but she is very intelligent and will encourage (in some cases force) you to do better work. Take her if you want help with your work and ideas, not for a high grade. Some people can’t stand her, I liked her…. I don’t know if you will.
