you better show up and you better read. gives you chunks of the book to read the night before. she will tell you everything that's gonna be on the test, you get the test and its nothing like what she said the test would be. all I can say is you better remember every line of the story you're reading because she will test you on those lines. goodluck

Professor Hicks is absolutely amazing. Her mind is so creative and she influences her lectures with so much truth and really makes you open your mind. If you read the material and truly listen to her advice and instructions you will pass with ease. You MUST read everything. She is very fair with grading and treats every student equally.

Mrs. Hicks broadened my mind through her lectures in a very enlightening way. She continuously pushes you outside of your comfort zone and wants you to have confidence in your work. If you read the assignments and listen to her (amazing) lectures, you will pass this class. Very satisfied with this class

Mrs. Hicks's lectures are very interesting, but she often goes into so much depth about things that she loses the main focus of the lecture. You MUST read everything she assigns. She almost always gives quizzes after a reading assignment. Her class is difficult, but not impossible. If you really study and pay attention you should do fine.

Wonderful professor, loved this class, first test is very hard, (they only get better after that). Her lectures are thought provoking and very interesting. The work is only hard if you do not read the material.

I absolutely loved Mrs. Hick's class. At the beginning of the semester, I thought I would have to drop the class. She gives amazing extra credit opportunities, despite the difficulty of the class. She is willing to help everyone, but you have to put forth effort. This class is NOT an easy A. You have to read, study, and do extra credit.

Mrs. Hicks is a ok teacher, but she is hard. She grades real hard and she barely teaches. She forgets what she tell the class sometimes and always trying to joke in class. She talks about stuff that doesn't pertain to what we are working on. Her tests are very hard and she confuses the class. She gives lots of extra for attending art shows.

Gives tons of extra credit just for going to arts performances. Definitely have to attend class, strict attendance policy. Get on her good side by participating in class and asking for help. Instructions can be confusing, but she will always help when asked. Humorous and loves telling stories.

Her test consist of having to know the difference between each of the poets based on random stanzas in their poems. TEST ARE EXTREMELY HARD! She isn't very lenient on grading or attendance policy. GET READY TO READY A LOT!

Nice lady, unclear instructions, most instructions are oral, rarely writes anything on board, tests are hard, didn't have to purchase textbooks but had to purchase certain books when covering them, doesn't really teach, forgets what she tells the class, gives bonus points when you go to any art performance

Prior to taking this class, I had no interest in doing so, but it was a requirement for core curriculum. Mrs. Hicks is a very interesting person with a great sense of humor and loves to laugh, but also knows there's a time for being serious. She will help you if you ask for it. Give her respect and she'll respect you. Fun class! Dante was superb!

I enjoyed the class and ended up learning something in the process. Mrs. Hicks is a good teacher and cares for her students, but you never know your grade in the class. It took her a month to get one of our papers back. P.S. The test are very hard!! But the review for the final is the EXACT same as the Final!!

This was the only class I've ever had to drop so far in my college career. Mrs. Hicks is also the worst teacher I have ever had. Don't expect any feedback on tests, in fact, don't expect to ever receive help from her. Very disrespectful. Don't take her class.
