Comment:
I really enjoy Professor Hydorn's class. It's not hard & she gives you chances for extra credit. There is very little work done outside of class & she makes it hard for you to fail. She uses a course pack instead of a textbook. Notes are hard to read but overall she's a good professor. She's very nice and wants you to do well. Don't get textbook!!!

Dr. Hydorn was one of my favorite math professors. She is a little bit crazy during lecture but very interesting. Not too harsh on grading and gives good feedback. Homework helps boost grades and the quizzes and tests are similar to homework and note problems. She is also very helpful outside of class. Highly recommend this class.

This Professor is extremely ineffective. She DOES NOT TEACH. Be prepared to teach yourself the material. Tutors can't help much because she uses "different formula's" than other math professors. Grading is very vague. She basically decides your grade with no data to back it up. Does not give feedback or grade papers in a timely manner. AVOID!

Prof. Hyrdorn changed my opinion about math. She worked with me outside of class and after finals to make sure I got the grade I needed to pass. Her attitude and teaching required her students to put in the work but the assignments are not impossible and directly prepare you for the exams. Study and you'll do well! We needs more profs like her!

Her handwriting is impossible to read when recording the notes from the board. Makes mistakes often. Makes many mistakes. Type of professor who doesn't really like to engage with people might be a personality thing though. In class just throws facts at you instead of explaining.

Very poor professor. Lectures almost impossible to understand. Chalkboard notes impossible to read. Class poorly organized. Avoid if you can

Not bad for the matrix half of the course. She dropped more than half the students' grades a full letter grade with her midterm for not showing how they checked their work (which wasn't listed in the instructions.) Second half of the semester has been copy and paste from the textbook so far which isn't much help if you struggle with abstract math.

The Art of Mathematics FSEM is a course in which you get to look at a bunch of artwork, discuss how math was used and incorporated into the art, and then use math concepts to create your own art. If that sounds fun to you, I highly recommend this class. I personally had a great time and it isn't hard to get a good grade.

Terrible professor. Terrible lecturer. For an introductory class she makes it seem like you should already know everything. She tries to make jokes during class but they are terrible and nobody laughs. Easily the worst professor I have ever had.

This class was awful. Although at first she makes it seem like it's easy, it is anything but. I went every day, and even during office hours, thinking I understood the material but when it came to the tests, they were nothing like class work or homework. Her grading scale is extremely vague so keep an eye on her markings/ your grade .

I have always had a tough time with math, and Dr. Hydorn was a good choice! She is hugely helpful if you go to her office, and answered my email questions as well. She uses a coursepack, which makes it easier to follow along with her in class examples. Recommend!

She gives you a course pack with all of her notes that she uses to teach the class. Quizzes, and R computer homeworks are easy A's. tests are more tough but she provides you with practice test problems and solutions. She sets students up really well to do well. Just do the work, I don't understand the negative reviews, she's good.

She makes the class very easy. If you don't pay attention, go to class regularly, and study from her practice problems/quizzes, then you will probably have a hard time. She's a very nice and understanding professor too. I enjoyed her class. People don't give her enough credit, but she really does try to make the class easy..

Math Modeling: Spent class time copying notes as she writes them on the board. Notes are unhelpful and hard to use when comparing to the actual problems she gives on tests. She is nice and tries to be helpful, but explains it like she does notes. Unthorough and as if you should already understand.

The teacher is a nice lady, but she doesn't teach the material very well. It's like she gives you handouts with the notes on them and just reads them without explaining anything on them. Whenever you try to ask her about a problem, she acts like she doesn't want to focus on you.Dont bother buying the Escher Textbook, you wont use it.

Escher Math = Best class ever. She is very enthusiastic about the subject and if you show interest she will be the easiest teacher ever. Her explanations are scatterbrained but always make some sense. Projects are mostly coloring, but regular homework is a pain in the ass

Dr. Hydorn is very nice and helpful if you go to her office hours but class is just her writing what is in the textbook on the board. She goes over material very quickly and does little to elaborate on what is in the textbook. She sends an attendance sheet around daily. This class was tougher than I anticipated.

Very good professor and an interesting class. She makes it fun. She does zip through things quickly sometimes, but she's more than willing to slow down or repeat things. She makes this subject, which is somewhat boring, really pretty fun. And an extraordinarily nice person!

Dr. Hydorn is such a nice, great teacher. When it comes to statistics, she knows her stuff! If you don't understand something, go to her office hours and she will gladly explain it! Make sure to do the homework in the format she gives you to get maximum credit.

Dr. Hydorn was unclear in class and I gained next to nothing from her lectures. She gives you handouts to write your notes on, which is good for organizing, but little else. She does not offer partial credit like she claims to. She is not very helpful during office hours. As a final note, the book for this class is poorly laid out and not used.
