As a Point Loma Physics alum (class of '04!) I've taken all of Dr.Puntenney's classes and found him to be an incredibly clear, helpful professor, personable and willing to go the extra mile to help students understand the material. It's not an exaggeration to say that I enjoyed every class I took with him, from mechanics to string theory seminars.

As a phys grad I've taken all of Dee's classes. I can tell you, that for majors, he is genuinely interested in his/her success. Will allocate more than ample time in office for any concern. He was willing to entertain my chronic illness as contrib to poor performance. Though he is chummy w/ stdents to a fault, will adhere to high standards.

i had him for earth science. he's a good guy, but i don't feel like he is really interested in what he is teaching, which is a bummer because the topic is interesting, but he doesn't engage students to become interested. the class is pretty easy if you study the lecture notes. there are weekly quizzes that are all right if you actually pay attentio
