Comment:
Prof Guerin is a nice lady, the course material is not super tough but she runs an inverted classroom which makes you do more outside of class instead of in the class. 2 field trips where you must have your own transportation to and one project that makes you ride the bus and travel around Gainesville to do. Got a C on all 3 tests and got an A.

Comment:
Professor Guerin is a great professor. The class is heavy on lectures and tests, but if you take good notes and study well, you'll do fine. She did not take attendance much, but you will definitely want to be at class every day. The class and lab were a bit disjointed in terms of material. Overall though, a great and caring professor!

1. Her study guides only kind of help for the test 2. You have to do a project where you drive all over wasting gas and time (6ish hrs for me) and take selfies in front of buildings and turn in a hard copy 3. The assigned reading is so. long. If you get a hw question wrong it affects your grade 4. Only one person aced 1 test all semester. Not me.

Professor Guerin is an amazing person. It is very clear that she cares and wants her students to succeed. That being said, it is Core Bio I which is quite difficult. I had to work for the grade I got, and had to put in a lot of work. If you want to skate by and not try, then I would consider changing your major to something non-science.

If you don't study or are naturally great in Biology then you may fail. She's an understanding professor when it comes to personal issues. However, her tests are mostly based on the text book. Lectures don't go into depth and sometimes I would leave class and lab confused. STUDY! Make sure you understand the labs and study after every lecture.

Had her last semester and I could easily say, avoid taking her. Lectures are nothing like the hard tests. I read the textbook and still got Cs on her tests, maybe a B if the chapter happened to be an "easy" one. Also did every homework and it barely did anything to raise my grade. She is also very condescending.

the test are nothing like the notes from the lectures and homework is only worth 2 points each. The questions are extremely hard even if you have read the book.

She does a great job teaching the curriculum but you have to put your own work in as well. If you participate she will always help you. She has kind of odd humor but I found it entertaining. Parts of the class are tough but if you study on you own you can do well. Always do the reviews and take advantage of the extra credit pop quizzes she gives!

I LOVE HER! She is funny, smart and passionate. You can tell she knows her stuff. Pay attention in class! Biology can be difficult so don't expect an easy A. Study. Core 1 is usually a "weed-out" class so you know if you're really up for this major. Pop quizzes are used as extra credit so if you get questions right, you earn points towards tests.

She's very sweet, and her lectures are fun. I really enjoyed her class and definitely learned a lot from it. Make sure to take notes, and write down everything she writes on the board.

She's a nice lady and relatable but she makes you work for your grade. Her lectures are critical towards passing the tests as well as reading the textbook chapters. I wasn't a big fan of the test questions since they felt like they were trying to confuse you rather than test you, bur her office hours helped me out a lot when I was stuck.

Extremely lecture- based class, the textbook helps a lot, try to show up more often than not. Lecture quizzes are really hard but the lab quizzes are even more difficult. She's like a cute angry grandma, except there are no cookies and just brainhurt.

Lectures are confusing, and the tests seem to be nothing from her lectures or what she teaches in class. Her lab exams are almost impossible to pass or study for. I did every lab, and studied as much as I could for her labs and still would fail them. Her lecture exams seemed so hard worded to where I never understood the question.

I found her lectures to be very straightforward and easy to follow, and she is attentive when it comes to answering questions. Plus, she is among the more easy-going and fun professors I've had! Keep in mind that the tests will be difficult. You will need to read the book in addition to note-taking.

wouldnt recommend this prof if u arent already fluent in bio and chem fundamentals. The labs were the only time i actually learned. Her lectures are very disorganized and always hand written on the board, which means a lot of wasted time. This prof will have you pulling out your hair.

MRS. G IS THE TYPE OF PROF. WHERE IF YOU GO TO CLASS EVERYDAY, TAKE DETAILED NOTES, GO TO THE COOL FIELD TRIPS, STUDY CONSISTENTLY AND GET A GOOD LAB GROUP (WHICH YOU CHOOSE) TO STUDY WITH, THEN YOU CAN EASILY GET AN A. HER EXAMS ARE LONG BUT SHE GIVES YOU STUDY GUIDES AND EXAM OUTLINES. SHE'S ALSO ONE OF THE COOLEST PROF. THAT I HAVE HAD SO FAR.

She's a nice lady, and she is conveniently available in her office. But there are multiple projects that don't have clear instructions (individual and group). Her exams are near impossible to study for. The homework from the book sometimes has nothing to do with subjects studied in class.

Minimum extra credit-maybe twice throughout semester. Homework is straight from the book. Tests are unbelievably difficult because she doesn't prepare you for the exams very well. Lots of group projects. Would not recommend taking.

Very down to earth as a person. She gave back assignments in a timely manner. Her lectures were fairly easy to follow. She assigns a few group projects and individual projects. You are required to go into the field for a few projects. She grades based on correctness, not completeness. Her tests had no correlation to the lectures or textbook.

lectures were unorganized and so were her instructions for group projects. when you ask for help, she doesnt give a clear answer. projects require you to go out and survey land which is very time consuming. kind of condescending. would not recommend to take.
