A passionate professor who cares about his students. If you show up to class, attend the lectures, and do the readings, you will succeed. He gave out prizes during class to keep things lighthearted. This class focused on poetry more than I would have expected.

Dr. Looney is so intelligent and really knows his stuff. I like that coming to lecture is never boring, and it always helps me to clarify material, rather than waste time or add to readings. He is very straight forward and hilarious. Take a class from him!!!

As a transfer student I knew nothing about any of the professors. he was truly an amazing professor. always willing to help, very approachable and fun. he makes jokes and his class is enjoyable. just keep up with the reading and you'll be fine!

A very funny man that pulls no punches when it comes to talking about his favorite historical authors. Also, he speaks Italian very well. Looney is a smart man and is worth the work if one likes his courses of Italian history and want a fun first-time lecture experience.
