Really cool dude. I was never a strong English writer but Brown made English Great Again. Letting us choose a topic for these long 2000 word papers. Gives you a chance to talk to him in class or even email him. He wants to see all his students succeed. I say as long as you are willing to do the work, the rest comes easy. 8/10

Very intimidating but a good prof. Good looking and a good brain to back it. No cell phones permitted. Exam was easy and related well with the course. Talks a lot but he's good looking and has a nice voice so you wont mind.

Some sour grapes but he is clear about what he is doing from the start. Reading is about finding the messages and information in article that you might have missed. For writing assignments he is always available and has writing labs during class time. The A is there if you want. You might have to do some work for it. He is a great prof.

Derek is one of the best profs at GBC. Yes, he's scary and a hard marker, but when you ask for his help, he's there. You won't fall asleep in his lectures because he's very funny and entertaining. You have to work really hard on his assignments to get a good mark.

He is really a tough grader. Assignment topics were selected such a way that I had to know North American history and culture very well. None of the Asian students in my class got better than B. Most of us got D+ to B-. His autocratic behavior did hurt me much. He never used blackboard. At the end of the semester I knew my fate.
