Makes the class way more difficult that it needs to be. Do your best to get a different teacher who will make reasonable tests/quizzes. i had a friend who got 60% for attendance. With DMC it is 100% off of tests and quizzes. Pointless

Avoid at all costs. I enjoy economics, but taking Economics with DMC is like taking it with Satan. His quizzes are worded with trick questions so you spend more time trying to figure out the wording then the concepts.

Professor Mendez clearly understands the topics he discusses. However, his lectures do not show this well. His tests are very difficult, but he is fair with grading curves. Office hours are useless. You would have a better bet with taking this class with another professor. However, Prof Mendez is a smart man with an... interesting sense of humor

Worst teacher there is. Had a fellow student tell me he'd "rather poke myself in the eyes with nails than go to econ with Mendez" if that's not a bad teach im not sure what is. Also this man really doesn't enjoy teaching, how am i suppose to enjoy learning if the teacher doesn't enjoy teaching? Also never gave a clear answer to questions. BAD!

Full of himself. Really had an attitude that from day one I hated. Could tell from the beginning that I wouldn't like him or the class/way he teaches. I was right. Horrible class (econ) don't take it with him. Everyone I've talked to said GET OUT ASAP. Take with Ghosh or Smith. NOT MENDEZ!

This man is the devil. He is the only professor who instead of helping you, will suggest to drop the class. He is very arrogant and really does not care about the students or what they have to say. If at all possible, avoid this professor. Absolutely horrible.

He's a goody guy, a good teacher and for the most part keeps the class interesting. You could go to every other class and get just about as much out of it as if you went everyday. His lectures are rather repititous. His online quizzes can be worked on in large groups and mastered in large numbers, however, his tests are nearly impossible! GL!

This teacher is horrible! His tests are extremely hard! pretty much a third of my class dropped after the first one. I went to class every day, paid attention, and took notes and still did bad. He is the person that made me decide not to become an econ major because the class was rediculous. I will never take another class that he teaches.

DMC is the man. he seems kinda uptight at first but definitely warms up as the semester goes on. he has a corny sense of humor that makes class fun. online quizzes are a breeze and make up quite a bit of your grade and the midterms arent bad. no homework unless you want to do the reading which he gives you summaries of anyway. easy class, good prof

Well Professor Mendez is a decent teacher. My teacher last year was much better, and I feel like I learned a lot more. However, there are take home online quizzes worth 15% of your grade and EC opportunities. Not too tough of a class but not the best teacher I have ever had.

he plays favorites very bad. do not get on his bad side, if he dislikes you he will be very closed off and blame your effort for your poor results. If you stay on his good side the class is fairly easy.

SOOOO BAD - Mendez knew I was struggling and instead of offering to help he said "There's only so much effort you can put in" and told me to drop his class. Oh, P.S. he has this clause/rule in his grading policy that if you fail any test or his final, you fail his class no matter what.
