First, just because you do bad in a class doesnt mean someone's an unfair grader. If you just do what he asks (and hes very specific in his instructions) then you'll do fine. Secondly, his classes will only be interesting to you if you ARE INTERESTED IN PHILOSOPHY. He's hardly perfect, though. sometimes very disorganized. But overall hes great.

This guy is honestly very smart. And he is SO laid back and opened. He IS opinionated, but unless youre completely moral-less, you'll agree with him. And he will NEVER grade against you if you diasgree. He is a good teacher, a good man, and your silly to not take his class.

What a terrible teacher! He spends most of the class forcing his beliefs on his students, and then when you try to have your own opinion he shoots you down. Very hard to follow, and not a fair grader.

He is not a good professor. I think there is a culture gap here since he is from Germany, and I don't think he has adjusted to the way it is here in the US. I am an older PT student and he scolded me in front of the class because I spoke during class w/o raising my hand! He grades hard.

This guy is the epitome of phony liberalism. He's not even an authentic liberal. He saw Sean Penn and Tim Robbins espouse their unfounded nonsense on CNN and MSNBC and he thinks he's cool. Too bad he's not a real live activist liberal like me -- this guy can only talk about it. Don't take.

Very intelligent and passionate. Tough class. He challenges you and forces you to argue well, not just argue. A nice guy who seemed eager to want to help students learn about ethics. Class was sometimes challenging or frusterating, but overall, a good professor and a worth while class.

such a nice man! Very knowledgable in his field and always willing to make time to meet with students. Trully cares about people. Class is not not overwhelming. Class discussions interesting. You get a different prespective on things, defenitely take a class with him!

Anyone would be very lucky to have him. It's rare to find someone who's brilliant and accomplished and still cares about how much undergraduates learn. Always takes the time to make sure everyone understands something before he moves on. Loves to help students with anything. An awesome teacher.

A wonderful man! I honestly do not understand how he's received such bad reviews...he'll take as much time to teach as necessary for everyone in the class to understand it and he's an easy grader on top of that! I highly recommend any class he teaches!!
