Dr. Fiddner is a very confusing professor; he is always all over the place. You never know if he's just rambling or if you should actually write down what he's saying. On another note, he's a very sweet man, and will gladly work with you if you need help. He loves participation. Make sure you take the map quizzes seriously, good grade booster.

Dr. Fiddner is a fantastic professor. American foreign policy really gives a person better insight to how the government makes foreign policy. The textbook is a must have, and the research paper at the end of the semester was quite a challenge.

Looking for an easy A? Take him. Looking to catch up on sleep? Take him. The textbook you'll only need for the random map quizzes so have a friend in the class and share. Study the guides he sends for the 3 - 4 tests he gives and you'll be fine.

He really loves teaching! You don't have to come to class to pass; if you want an A you need to go. He gives map quizzes but they are really easy. Hardest part of the class was the 10 page paper but he helps you through it &gives you a lot of time to do it. his exams have open ended questions so study. Overall my favorite class this semester.

Dr. Fiddner is the man. You can tell he actually enjoys the subject he teaches wh makes it a lot more enjoyable. The material is alittle boring but be sure to write down what he says and writes on the board. Test are medium difficulty if you study. The hardest part is the 5-10 page paper on the Cuban Missle Crisis. I would for sure take again

Dr. Fiddner is AMAZING. I was supposed to have him for PLSC 283 this semester, but he got sick. :( For PLSC 101, the hardest part is writing a 5-10 page analysis on the Cuban Missile Crisis. I went to his office hours, & he was very willing to help me. I got an A on the paper! He cares so much for his students. I can't wait until he comes back! :)

Dr. Fiddner cares about his subject and his students. I've taken all three of his courses and have enjoyed each one - yes, they are dense and the exams can be difficult, but he is always willing to help as much as you need. Get ready to buckle down, but you'll be better for it.

A great teacher. Really cares about the students. Is very interesting during lectures. This class is difficult. You will be required to write 3 papers. Each paper is anywhere from 10 to 20 pages long. This course should be considered a "writing intensive course." The text book is vital. Interesting course, but you will but A LOT of work into it.

I took three classes will Dr. Fiddner at the undergraduate level: American Foreign Policy, Intelligence Policy and Process, and Political Military Strategy. Two "B" and one "C". this man cut me more breaks than I ever deserved, and wrote me a superlative recommendation for graduate school. I am forever grateful to him.

I love DocFid. He is definitely worth getting to know beyond just a professor, he really wants to help you and see you succeed. I recommend taking any of his classes, I've taken 3, they are admittedly difficult but you will be proud of yourself for completing the course.

I took Dr. Fiddner twice. Once for American Foreign Policy and the other for Intelligence Process and Policy. I liked the intelligence course more, it was more hands on. He will challenge you and is an extremely nice guy. He is very understanding with things. His projects/papers/presentations are a lot of work. You have to use the book every day.

Dr. Fiddner is the best prof. At IUP. I received a C in his class, but it's no fault of his. He challenges you to think and organize a new way. Class was enjoyable. Use the book!!!!!! That is the only way you will pass.

The material is dry, but he connects very well with his students, has a down-to-earth style and pleasant personality. There is a 5-10 page paper that was fairly easy, and you got to revise it for a better grade (I didn't have to.) Tests were moderate if you took good notes.

Why can't ever professor be like him. This man is one of the greatest professor ever. He is interesting and enjoyable, this was a class i enjoyed coming to. His tests are easy, he pretty much gives you everything in a study guide. There is a paper which isn't easy. But besides that he is amazing.

Dr. Fiddner is a phenomenal teacher. If you come to class and pay attention, you will earn a good grade. His paper is long, however, you have the oppurtunity to revise it. Don't base any of your responses off of your opinions because the material you cover is sufficient enough. I'm excited to take another one of his classes this fall.

Comment:

You have to like Dr. Fiddner. It's clear he tries, but he expects you to as well. His foreign policy class is pretty tough, because he wants you to learn the matieral, by using the textbook and only the textbook. He will make you earn your grade, and he doesn't allow for opinions. All that being said, its clear that he tires, and it is a fun class.
