He's a really sweet guy, but not the most interesting. He would go through slides all class, and it was really easy to accidentally zone out. For tests you have to memorize an insane amount of pieces and then he'd show ten on the screen for you to identify. He would sometimes pick minor unimportant ones so basically you have to study EVERYTHING.

He isn't very clear on how his testsexamsquizzes are set up, he does allow you to hand in work late and he seems like a nice person, but the class is not very upbeat and I wish I switched out of his class while I still had the chance to. Definitely invest in renting the textbook incase you don't take detailed notes.

Very sweet and helpful - good for timid frosh. :) I didn't experience any "spinelessness" that some people have mentioned; he did call out people who were late several times while I had him. Work with him and he'll work with you.

He is so nice and really passionate about art history. You are not going to find an art history that doesn't make you go to sleep so i recommend his class just because he is so nice. He also gives a lot of time to study for test and quizzes. He is very lenient about handing work in late.

Truly one of the sweetest professors I have ever known. He is giving of his time, experience, advice, joie de vivre. He is not the most difficult professor, but that is not to say you don't come away with a deep body of knowledge.

Yes, he's adorable, but the man's a friggin' push-over. Students who work their asses off get the same A as the slackers--it's not fair to those who actually pay attention and work. And the slackers talk through class and show up late and he doesn't say anything. So annoying. He needs a spine.

Of all the foundation art history teachers, he is by far the best. He makes life SO much easier by providing students with outlines of his lectures and what is expected to appear on exams. His accent isn't that bad, its understandable. He spells a lot. Sometimes it gets boring, but thats history. He knows his stuff. Only teaches 1st semester.

A lot of people complain about not understanding his accent, but that's just part of the package...a kind and helpful professor, highly recommended for Art History 101-103. And how is that name not fun to say?

Hazzikostas is, as others here have observed, a Pratt institution (pun intended). He's been teaching survey and assorted ancient art courses for millions of years for good reason--he's an encyclopedia. He can be a bit dry at times, but it's worth it.
