He's mean. So, so mean. I am envious of bus majors who won't have to take policy with him since he's retiring. Has a super short fuse. Gruff, unkind, not understanding at all. He expects you to know everything and understand all assignments and gets angry or condescending when you ask for clarification. Smart person but horrible professor.

Professor Butt was an excellent Professor to me!!! With cost accounting material being tough, Inwoukd always go to his office hours and he would prepare me well for the upcoming exams. True that he doesnt give out much grades but he is certainly caring about his students and wanting them to do well!!!

He is very condescending and arrogant. I have asked him a question and he answers it as if it was a different question, almost like he didn't even listen . He does a good job about talking business lessons, but the stuff he teaches in class has nothing to do with tests and homework. So, prepare to teach yourself.

Very condescending teacher. He's very arrogant and when asked questions about lesson topics he tends to talk down to students. He expects us to read the book outside of class and only teaches by going over the homework, very little review before assigns the homework. Makes the material tough to understand, doesn't do the problems the simplest way.

One of the best professors at the Mount. His classes are not easy but you have a good understanding of the topic when the class is over. Try to understand the subject and ask questions and he is very helpful. Highly recommend Don for any class.

I had him for MBA 509 Fin. Analysis. He was a great professor. I would highly recommend him. I took him as my first MBA class and was scared when reading the reviews. You do have to dedicate a good amount of time to the case study assignments and must be present in class to do well.But he is helpful and is really good at explaining the material.

I took his MBA financial statement analysis course. There was a LOT of work scheduled, but he cut significant amounts out. His grading was sort of odd; I received a higher grade than I expected, so I am not arguing. He definitely knows his stuff through years of auditing. Not a bad class, all in all.

If you are a bus. major, he's a great prof and he'll love you. He really dislikes accounting majors. Makes our tests absolutely impossible and spent the classes rambling about business things, not accounting. His favortism to bus. majors is really obvious--cancels their final, cancels a big paper, and invites them to his house. Not Acct majors!

Don Butt continues to excel in teaching. He is very good at his job. Was good for Corp. Finance and even better for Bus. Policy. He really helps you out and makes you understand the class. He is also fair on grading. He will help you out with understanding if you need it. HE's the man!
