Comment:
Political Theory I is the hardest course I have ever taken: about 2k pages of reading and 6 7-10 page papers, graded without mercy. It is also among the most rewarding. Dugi really pushes students to think for ourselves and to build our philosophical foundations for use in all disciplines; his analytic method is jaw-dropping. Invaluable prof.

I must concur with another reviewer and say Dugi is a complacent, self absorbed individual. This is a classic example of when someone's been around too long. Transy leadership (President Carey are you listening?) should have shown him the door 10 years ago. He stopped letting students review him... wonder why?

Comment:
Dugi's a great teacher. His lectures are interesting and in-depth. Only grades in the course are the 5 unit tests, journals and an extra 5% if you participate in class. Tests are difficult and content heavy, but if you do the readings (4+ chapters a test and 7+ supplemental articles) and listen in the lectures an A/B on the exams isn't impossible.

you will read A LOT in this class if you want to get a good grade, there is no half assing the readings. great teacher and excellent class, but it is early and not worth it if you're just looking for a social science credit

Dr. Dugi is one of the greatest professors I have ever had the privilege to learn from. He seems very intimidating at first, but is really easy to talk to once you get to know him. I would recommend for anyone to take his class, however you better be prepared to read a lot and learn the material before class.

One of the few professors who is able to make me think and really evaluate my opinions and beliefs--rather than just say I'm a Republican. He's one of the few at Transy who actually tries to keep balance between conservative vs liberal (I think he's the only prof at Transy who didn't try to shove liberal ideology down my throat...hmm).

Dr. Dugi is absolutley wonderful. Prepare to work hard, but if you do so he will be your biggest fan and best ally. Show him that you're interested in the subject matter and you'll be golden.

Dr. Dugi's sole objective is to mold his students into articulate, intellectually sound invidividuals. He teaches the Political Science discipline while incorporating other related disciplines in a comprehensive manner that is easy to understand.

I think Dugi wrote that first post himself. He's definitely full of himself. I think he was perhaps cutting edge in his beliefs like 20 years ago and now he's grown complacent...thinks he has the whole world figured out already...and he's tenured, so he can get away with it.

Don Dugi is a great mix of 60s radicalism and real world savvy. He is conversant on about any non-technical topic you can imagine. I found the prepration process for his classes got me through an Ivy League graduate degree with honors. He is that good. Wonder why he stays in Lexington? Being his student is something you will never forget.

A brilliant professor. Though he is a bit blunt, and a little bit of a smartass...He really makes you think, and teaches you to back up your statements, and not talk unless you actually know what you are talking about. Not easy, by any means...But great.

First of all dude rambles, he'll talk about the most random stuff that has NOTHING to do with the readings at all. Second, you need about two hours to complete his tests;too bad the class is an hour long.Your hand will ache and feel like it's falling off. Nice guy though, i actually met him in a bar. Also, the rivalry with freyman is hilarious.

Dr. Dugi's Introduction to US Politics while always taught at 830 in the morning to weed out people who aren't really interested is probably one of the most amazing classes I ever took at Transylvania.

A professor who expects the most from his students, but isn't above expecting the same from himself (will discuss topics, hosts review sessions, etc).
