If at all possible, do not ever take this man. He is a good man, yes. However, as a teacher, he never stays on subject, he never explains anything, he is a tough grader. You must buy the textbook, because that is the ONLY way you can have a shot at passing. You can't understand him, coming to class is pointless. Take some other teacher. Not him

Prof. Shull is difficult to follow, but when he stays on topic, he offers lots of insight. I went on a trip to Canada with him; he sat in the floor of a bookstore and read a Dr. Seuss book to us. Fascinating, weird, wild stuff.

I loved Dr. Shull's class. Somehow his random tangents are connected to the topic. If you can maintain attention to listen to him, you will learn a lot. The man is a genius! Because he is so smart he doesn't always get down on the typical college student's level. He would do anything for you and truly cares. He wants to share his passion of literature. Bear with him and learn. It will be a great experience.

Dr. Shull loves literature! He is the quintessential college professor. The best thing is the way he dresses; he wears suspenders and bowties!! It's great. He is his own person and doesn't let what others think about him change who he is. He really knows his literature.
