He appears to come across as slightly annoyed if you ask him for help too often. In a class in which the idea is to provide opinion and analysis, it appears that he deducts points from your writing assignments if your opinion doesn't match his. Avoid taking his courses if possible.

The only prof I have ever had who actually dislikes you if you participate too much. Don't ever go against something he believes or threaten him intellectually because he will intentionally make your life harder if you do. Bottom line he's a terrible professor and an even worse human being.

took the hybrid course. its time consuming. you have to do something for that class almost every day. He is not everybody's cup of tea. I hated him at first and ended being able to tolerate him. I would not recommend unless you're in that major

I graduated from UPB 10 years ago,and I still dislike Ulin. He once wrote "your contentions are ludicrous" on a paper and then graded it an A-. Huh? Way to be consistent, dude. Ulin thinks he is smarter than everyone at UPB,peers included, and that's why he's still there.

When it comes to asking him what your grade is...he doesnt know. Comments were always rude and not helpful in the least. I felt like he purposely wanted to fail me. Hes an english teacher but cant spell. He says you can email him anytime..DONT bc he will hate you. Only in Bradford. SUCKS!

Don Ulin is...Don Ulin. He isn't everyone's cup of tea. He loves literature and he wants to share it. He is so kind, helpful, and willing to do what it takes to get a student what they need. He isn't always "together" in class and sometimes its hard to know what he expects,however, without Dr. Ulin I wouldn't have made it. *HighFive4Life*

Not very prompt at responding to emails. Changes readings & assignments often with not much clarity at what is wanted. Readings & discussions usually were classes apart. He would ask opinion analysis questions and if it didn't match his thoughts you were wrong....bad teacher overall.

The best advisor ever and one of the best professors I've had. So interested in the success of his students and willing to help those who want to help themselves. Reliable, dependable...maybe absentminded *once in a while* but who isn't? Highly recommended. Great guy.

i took him many years ago, and i took him for granted. having taken a bunch of english courses at Oakland, Ulin rises to the top. if you dont like the man, its only because he exposes your own inadequacies. matched to his brilliance, we are all goobers.
