Dr. Dahlgren made FYS very enjoyable for me! She really helped me learn how to navigate the campus. She is always willing to meet with you or communicate with you outside of class. I definitely recommend her for FYS!

All of the tests were online except for the final. Lectures were long but she tried to keep it interesting. She is nice and will help if you ask. She assigned a lot of group work and had pop quizzes.

I thought she made the material interesting. We did have quite a bit of hw but, that's to be expected at this level in college. As long as you go to class and pay attention you should be good. Best strategy: If you show her that you care(ie: go to class, ask questions when you don't understand something), she will help you as much as she can.

Did not explain things well and was rude at times to other students. Expected us to know things on the tests that she did not go over.

She is scatterbrained. Her slides do not match the study guide, nor do they have any relevance at all. Twice this week, myself or another student has had to correct her on the interpretation of the graphs that she says will be on the test. I will be struggling this semester & I do NOT recommend taking her :X

Dahlgren means well, but she kind of plays favorites with students. Suck up hard if you want to do well. That being said, she can't explain anything well at all. She is scatter-brained and doesn't use examples. She grades fairly, though, and uses curves. If you have the patience to teach yourself, go for it. Otherwise, choose someone else.

I have been in some hard courses before, but nothing compared to this class. It didnt matter how much I read and studied for the exams, it was never good enough. She never provided clarity for any of the assignments. Even meeting with her didnt help. Absolutely the worse class ever. She might be a nice person, but she cant teach.

She is a little chaotic sometimes, but knows the topic from actually being in the field. Will help students if you just ask. Assignments are straight forward and the answers are right there in the book. Good teacher if you are willing to be a good student.

Her notes are really unclear, not to mention she changes them so it wastes printing alottment. She doesn't go over the study guide, because she doesn't want to give you the answers. So unhelpful and uninteresting.

Terrible teacher. Her lectures were all over the place, a free association nightmare. She also has a poor command of the material and can't answer questions. Avoid if you can.

Class should have been easy. She made it difficult. Kept adding assignments that were not on syllabus. Outrageous demands for students who also work. And of course she uses the textbook because SHE is the editor and she makes sure you know that.

250 & 251 are hard but Dahlgren made it undertandable. The books she used were good and her powerpoints cleared up a lot of confusion. She's really nice and I would recommend anyone to take her class.

She is one of the best teachers I have had at IUS. She relies heavily on powerpoints but if you attend class, and read the chapters, you will do fine. She does expect alot from you, but the class was pretty interesting and I look forward to enrolling in another class she teaches in the future.
