rofessor Francis' teaching and mentorship is phenomenal. I've taken three graduate classes with Prof. Francis (one was an independent study)and each one has helped shape my research fields. She is always able to refer me to cutting edge scholarship and suggest conferences where my research might be appropriate. She's great!

This is my 2nd class with Prof. Francis. She definitely teaches some interesting material in with what could be very mundane texts. Always read the texts, if you do so and show up her classes are not the most difficult, though they do require attention. If you have any prior interest to the subject I highly reccomand her courses.

Dr. Francis is certainly sharp and insightful. In class she doesn't take over the discussion but lets students guide the conversation; however, this is expected in graduate courses. When I went to see her during office hours, she was very helpful and gave me plenty to think about regarding my paper.

Dr. Francis is a great professor and she is very knowledgeable in her field. If you want to take a literature course but you are tired of Victorian lit her classes are the way to go! The novels you will read are fascinating and they address multiple issues such as race, gender and sexuality. Mind you this is my second course with Dr. Francis.

Professor Francis is wonderful. She is very intelligent and challenges you to look deeper into the text which is good. She can seem rude at times but I believe that is just her character. I advise you to go to her office hours, you will have a better understanding of everything when you do.

I took this class online so she may be different in person but I found her incredibly rude and useless. Her lectures don't really give you any information or engage you. You ask her one simple comment or to clarify something and she condescendingly responds to you making it seem that you are a waste of time.

Prof. Francis was really nice when I had her. She did tend to assign readings that were irrelevant but she definitely graded fairly. The most annoying thing was the group project in my opinion. Also, the movies we watched were interesting.

She's intelligent and obviously cared about her subject, however she's very sharp and was often downright rude to students attempting to participate (she says "uh huh, uh huh" a lot when she doesn't like what someone's saying. She's also oddly closed minded and tries hard to be scholarly, if your papers sound mature she'll eat em up.

Intimidating at first. Lectures can sometimes go on and on but a very sharp woman. Go to her office hours if you don't understand something. She does much better talking to people one on one vs. a classroom situation. Great reading list. I just wish her lectures were more engaging, maybe in a smaller class size.

she has a sort of sarcastic scary in your face attitude at first but thats just her thing. class is ridiculously boring and i was counting down the seconds till i could leave...it wasnt the teachers fault i just wasnt interested in the material. oh she's hot though!

Not helpful, Doesnt stick to syllabus. Wastes half the semester on BORING and unengaging presentations. She makes good books boring. Dont expect to learn what globalization is, or anything else for that matter. Dont waste time going to office hours, shes not friendly or helpful. She is very intelligent though, just can't teach undergrads well.

she is the best professor i have had so far. the oly reason i chose to take this eng class was because of her. she is so smart it's inspiring. she expects a lot but with all that you will learn you want to give her a lot.
