If you have the option to take A310 or A311 online, do it. To max on points, just Google the quiz questions, and you'll find it quickly. You don't need to do anything but know how to copy and paste to get an A in this class, but you won't learn anything! Most quizzes contain questions that aren't covered in the reading or slides, so beware!

One of my favorite professors I've had at IUS. Tests are very difficult because he uses old CPA exam questions but it really helps prepare you for the future. Does not teach a lot in class so you have to come prepared with questions to ask or you will fail the course. He gives participation points and will call on you at random.

This is an excellent course if your goal is to become a CPA, since he models his tests after the CPA exam, and makes note of it frequently. A small percentage of accounting graduates desire to become CPA's, so it's unfair to structure a required class around the CPA exam. This class should be an elective titled, "Accounting for CPA candidates."

Anyone that says Dr. Barney is passionate and caring in just wrong. In order to stimulate "higher learning", he makes his tests unbelievably difficult. Lectures don't provide insight to the material; Gleim is how I passed the class. There's no choice but to take Dr. Barney, but don't plan on learning anything- you cram enough for a test and forget.

This was one of the most difficult classes I have ever taken, and I am a double major in my senior year. When it comes to studying for the tests, DISSECT the homework problems and the text because NOTHING is face value. When he says the tests are "higher knowledge thinking" he means you need to be able to pass the CPA exam before you take it.

Barney is a passionate, caring teacher. This is a difficult course, but you will learn a lot and be more prepared for the CPA exam. If you can't do well in this course, you will not pass the CPA exam. I cannot overemphasize the importance of showing up for class and reading the textbook. Hang in there - it's worth it!

He makes the material so hard to understand....he is the only professor who teaches this class which is a fault of the university considering the drop out rate for this class is high. This eventually leads to a high accounting drop out rate because of these two classes.

Dr. Barney is one of my favorite professors. He is extremely knowledgable and passionate about teaching the material. His teaching style and tests take some getting used to but after a few weeks you will be OK. His tests are very difficult so study hard. Read the text several times, practice the homework, and go over Gleim.

He makes this confusing by giving u all this material to study which is suppose to be "helpful", but his exams are completely opposite. A lot of the problems involve material that wasn't covered in class, in the book, or in Gleim. I guess dissecting the book is your best bet since he's the only professor for 311. GOOD LUCK!
