Comment:

Very knowledgeable about topics especially historical/human geography. As a teacher he motivated and gave credit where it was due. He was my prof for 10 geography courses and inspired me to reach beyond my own expectations. Miss him!

Comment:

The most involved instructor that I've known. He motivated students and was willing to spend time to answer questions - he was never too preoccupied to help individuals. From my first geography class until my graduation he was an inspiration and will be missed by those that did not have the good fortune to attend his classes.

Comment:

The finest instructor during my studies at UCFV. His passion was Historical Geography, but his knowledge of the discipline overlapped into so much more. Doug let his students set their own expectations, making each class/course unique and memorable. It was a true pleasure being in one of your classes. You will be missed.

Was an excellent teacher. Successful in making the class not only interesting, but fun and relevant too. Mapping was fun, especially the lab. Everybody was shocked and saddened by his sudden and untimely passing. We'll all miss him dearly.
