Professor Brinley is amazing! I thought that he taught the marriage class perfect. He really called things out how they needed to. Some people felt uncomfortable, but marriage isn't easy and there are topics that aren't always fun to talk about. Brinley made it an awesome experience and changed my marriage for the better.

Many comments accuse Brinley of teaching a bunch of false doctrine. Hogwash!! BYU would not have kept him all these years if that was true. He has recieved calls from the First Pres.of the Church.His book on Sexual Intimacy was praised by the church. We do not come close to learning enough specifics about the doctrine in Church.He speaks the truth!

"T/F you will have spirit children in the Celestial Kingdom" Answer=yes,in the highest level, otherwise no. Brinley, apparently, wanted "no", but you never know with him. Multiple people complained about the Q. but he wouldn't budge. Also, on the 1st day he said not to take notes, but then you needed notes to do well on the tests--CONFUSING!

Umm wow-coulda gone without this class! I pretty much dreaded this class..which was terrible because I LOVE religion classes. It was all doctrine according to Brinley. He was funny at times..but humor can't compensate for doctrine mistaught. His tests are impossible..because I've been taught the RIGHT doctrine my whole life..not Brinley doctrine.

He is an entertaining man and very knowledgeable, but he goes about shareing some material, even if true, in a terrible way. Certain things we do in sacred places should not be quoted. I feel he has violated some of those obligations to keep things sacred. He has taught blatently False Doctrine as if truth. He takes sacred things too lightly.

I was afraid to take a class from him since all the comments on here are so hot and cold, but it wasn't bad. I agree that he is nice and funny, but I also thought some of his teachings were opinions and that he discussed sex more than was necessary. Don't be afraid to take him, but don't feel like you're missing out if you go with someone else.

Worst class I ever took. On certain doctrines he taught his own opinions. On some topics he brought out old quotes which the church has since made statements that these are not doctrine. He gives his opinion to lead one to believe that there is a conclusion on topics that the church has stated it has no opinion one way or the other.

This class kind of bothered me. There are two tests which are decent--but since it was hard to discern between HIS beliefs and true doctrine, the tests were a little difficult. He does teach false doctrine. Most of it is accurate, but some of it is plain assumption or speculation.

Bro Brinley is the man! Don't listen to those who talk bad about him; they probably did not read his manual and did not bother to come to class. He is super-funny and very knowledgeable. Attendance will help you know what is going to be on the test, so come and Enjoy! Take notes because stuff he says will be very likely to appear on the test.

He was the absolute WORST teacher I have ever had. He is arrogant. He was rude to students on several occasions. He is also very unorganized. He has one long word document that is like 100 pages long of random quotes in no particular order. He would discuss people who were seeking personal advice from him and use their real names. Unprofessional!!!

TAKE THIS CLASS!! Bro. Brinley is great. His books are great, too, so go buy them. He is so inspiring and helpful. His tests are a little tricky, so do the reading and pay attention in class, but the papers are really easy. He is very friendly and just reads what the Apostles have to say. No false doctrine, get over yourself.

Not perfect, but brother brinley is a very helpful man. He went out of his way to help both me and my fiance. He is very approachable. Yes, he may say some things you may disagree with, but that's how it is with all religion professors. Study his notes and the general authority talks he assigns and you'll do fine on the tests.

a really nice man and wants to help out, but he teaches a lot of his own doctrine and tries to make it seem like quotes from authorities match up, but he just has interpreted them terribly. i found some things he teaches very offensive. good guy, weird teacher.
