IP class elective first year. No office hours; confusing speaker. Talks fast on the important parts of the class which makes no sense. I was mad and sad that I took this as my elective. Talks in circles and then makes fun of me when I don't understand what he was saying. Not amusing. Would never take a class from Sylvester again. Avoid.

No office hours. Multiple classes canceled; makeup classes on Friday afternoons, where Sylvester reads power points made by prior instructors (he did not recognize the content on "his" slides on patent section during Friday make up class). Unprofessional attempts at humor that made me uncomfortable. Ambiguous final. Confusing presenter. Avoid.

Sylvester is highly entertaining and a very energetic professor with a biting, sarcastic tongue. Unfortunately, I have no idea what he wanted on the exam. I felt completely prepared and didn't do nearly as well as I had hoped. Despite the humor, he is actually an ineffective teacher.

Took him for IP. He is interesting as a professor because hes amusing, but his exam is hard and he often confuses ideas. Hard grader. He doesn't lay out what he expects for you on the exam. I would recommend not taking him.

Sylvester is okay - tries, interesting banter sometimes, but kind of disorganized and can't really get people to stop carrying on when class needs to make progress. An okay experience, but he can do better.
