Took a course back in 1998 when he taught Epidemiology. An amazing professor. We were talking about Ebola as one of the topics at the time, as well as Hep C case. This professor was fair. If you had enough cognitive faculties and passion to try to make the grade you want, you will get what you deserve. He has wonderful life stories. Thank you.

A bit too political for some peoples' liking, but he's much better about it outside of class. It IS possible to get a good grade without agreeing with him entirely or compromising your views. I HAVE done it, but be prepared for an uphill battle.

I'll never forget what he said in class "being straight is not normal, it is common", university has no place for radical social political views

His lectures have nothing to do with the course and he does not give clear answers about assignments. If you don't agree with him, he will not give you a good mark.

A LOT of reading. You really have to think but you will learn so much. He really wants you to do well but it is not a bird course. You will earn your A but you can do it easily

This prof should not hold a position where he interacts with students, like some other comments said, he does work with self-reflection, but if you do not agree with his views, he will make it very difficult for you to do well in his classes. I asked how i could improve without compromising my viewpoints, his response was not helpful and evasive.

Great professor. Encourages tolerance, self respect and reflection. Does an amazing job at opening his students' eyes to a world beyond their own. I have grown as a person from all I have learned from Dr. D, and I'll never forget it. Do the work and keep your mind open.

This is what learning should be like - SELF REFLECTION! He's enriched my life many times over with his classes. He rewards you for creativity and even attempting to think outside the box. This "ain't" for the light of heart - essays and books out the rear-end but he looks for what you have to say - not nit-picky on the rest of it!

VERY into himself. Likes to hear himself talk. He picks favourites and it's EXTREMELY obvious. He breaks all of the rules of the university. But in fact he is the source of grade inflation here at UWO. Oh well. Easy 90.

Interesting class, but be ready to read! 12 text books mandatory for the 0.5 course. Hand in assignments every week, plus 4 short (6pages = not short) essays, a photo voice project, and then a final exam. F load of work! And he expects a lot from you. I would advise AGAINST taking this course if you're just looking for an interest course

I found him entertaining. He was hilarious during the lectures he taught, though the movies were sometimes a little dull. He really seemed to want everyone to pass with a good grade, which is always a plus. He was helpful every time I went to see him. You never knew what to expect going into his class, but they were always interesting!

He only came to about half of the classes when he came he showed movies. He doesnt use overheads, he doesnt even talk about anything realating to anthro in his lectures. Though his classes are useless u are expected to know it all for the exams. Exams aren't all that bad. But he was nice enough to let me rewrite an essay that i did bad on.

Amazing prof. I have learned more in his classes than in any other class in my three years of university by far. He is what an anthropology teacher should be; he shares his personal experiences and completely opened my mind about the world. I have taken two of his classes and am taking two more next year. Warning: a LOT of writing involved.

He only shows up about half the time to our weekly class and when he does, he puts us to sleep. He's one of those rude, obnoxious profs who's extremely full of themselves. Do yourself a favour and DON'T take his class.
