I entered NMPD with no prior knowledge of development, and Dudley has guided me with many well-planned best practice solutions. His lectures are a treat to experience, as he combines valuable web-coding knowledge with clever deliveries. Just make sure to take notes and expand your knowledge with the recommended textbook, HTML & CSS by John Duckett.

Comment:

Super arrogant/big headed, and has absolutely no respect for any of his students. He made it really hard for me to enjoy learning web, and sucked any passion about web design and development out of me. I would create something that functioned and looked well, but it would never meet his high standards. Learning JavaScript was a joke.

Dudley is very passionate and knowledgeable about the subjects he teaches. He basis his teachings off his blog which, in addition to saving students from spending money on a textbook, is a great resource for coders of any level. His lectures are clear and concise. He can seem a little impersonal but I believe he wants his students to succeed.

Dudley is AWESOME. Hands down. SO knowledgeable and inspiring. But If you are wanting someone to give you a free easy ride, this class is not for you. He makes you work for it. Seriously though, stop whining,act like an adult, get to class on time, & Take some accountability if you get a poor mark. Work harder. It pays off and you learn a ton.

He is knowledgeable , but that's as far as it goes for an instructor. Hes not helpful, hes unclear, and unforgiving. He has utterly no respect for his students. The assignments aren't clear in what is required. I would steer clear if you want a good GPA, marks unreasonably. Regardless of grade, he definitely provides unnecessary stress.

Treats his adult classes as if they're 16 year old kids that need to be disciplined. Never be late for a pop quiz. He's unclear and tough to follow. He will mention important points that aren't always heard by the class and never repeat them. He's very knowledgeable about the subject but his instructing skills are mediocre.

Dudley is no joke. He's a walking encyclopedia on all things web development, and is a pretty cool guy to talk to. Just make sure you pay attention in his lectures, cause otherwise you'll fail. He doesnt make time to help layabouts, but will bend over backwards to give you a hand if you show effort.

The guy is brilliant when it comes to website design, but an utter failure when it comes to being a half decent teacher. You are either in it 100% or out of it 100%, and thats the model he feeds you the entire class. You better be ready to be ultra passionate about being a code monkey or you can just do yourself a favor and just find another career

In your first class, he will be very, very clear about what you should expect from him, and what he expects from you. It's no cakewalk, and if you need help you should FOR SURE get a SAIT approved tutor. But if you succeed in Dudley's class, I would not hesitate to hire you. For webdevs, success in his class is more valuable than the NMPD diploma.

Completely heartless when it comes to due dates and attendance (someone in my class lost marks for going to a family member's funeral instead of class). He know's web design, but not anywhere near as well as his massive ego would try to make you believe. He is rarely willing to give any one-on-one help and shows very little respect for students.

Dudley knows his stuff when is comes to web, but he completely disrespects most of his students and I felt like a complete victim throughout most of his classes. Try to do everything exactly as he says, because if you have a problem you have to sort out with him it probably won't go well for you.

Dudley grades fairly. It's either you know if or you don't. Make sure you know your grammar. Generally helpful and he is quite knowledgeable. If you like math/science you'll like his course. Does have a bit of a "I'm always right attitude". Just do your work and you'll survive.

He's a bit of an anomaly. Sometimes he's nice, then he's completely unreasonable. I ultimately believe he doesn't likes teaching, rather likes to impose his believed "superiorness" over students. It's really difficult to be in a class with that type of teacher as he is constantly contradicting himself, & seems to want to have his students do poorly

Ego is GRANDE and shows through teaching. Fly under the radar and be on time or else. Marking is completely unreasonable most of the time. Work hard and pray hard to have a chance of success. Bottom line he knows his stuff

There is no denying that Dudley teaches well. He is very strict, but if you are attentive in class, you will learn a lot. That being said, however, he is hypocritical in the fact that he demands perfect attendance when he is often late by 0-5 minutes. He also is not patient or helpful, in that he suggests incompetency when a student asks for help.

This guy is awesome. Love his teaching. He can be harsh at some times but he is awesome none the less. I have to agree with that one guy by saying he is possibly batman
