I went to the first two lectures of the semester, the midterm, and the final...and got an A. The tests were taken directly from the 4 online quizzes. Few assignments, all submitted on blackboard. We wrote our own text. So we didnt have to buy one :) The TAs were very helpful. Very speedy email response to any questions

It is not that Dr.Allen is not helpful, it is b/c the TAs helped me more.Very friendly and interesting teacher. This semester was a new & great experience w/ wikibooks. I will be taking him again.If you do not know who to take, then take your chances w/ Dr. Allen. Also has the best TAs I have ever seen.

Never saw the teacher. Not once. Teacher's assistants ran the class. Went to class 2 or 3 times. Everything was on the internet. Read the chapters and the internet stuff and got A's. Everything we were given to study were the exact questions asked on tests. Did have to do observation with this class. Missed 30 hours of work but learned a lot!

I thoroughly enjoyed this man's class. I took this class my freshman year. I look back on this class and I want to get the word out about how great it was. $8 text (Anno's Journey-children's picture book). He'll tell great stories, assign interesting topics (you decide), and you can hang out with him outside of class. Great man. Great TA too.

he taught english my freshman year. he was a very intelligent man who has a very broad outlook on many things. the class is very simple as long as you do the small amounts of required work. he is, simply put, a scholar. one of those genius characters you come to college to meet. great class, great teacher. take him whenever u can!!!

He is really easy, you do not need to buy a book or even attend class, everything is on the internet. His quizes are easy, and the outside work seems like a lot but is always graded as an A if turned in. A LOT different from newpage!

Although attendance is not required, I wouldn't miss one of his lectures-VERY interesting. The 30 hrs of classroom observation were not that helpful to me as I am a TA & work in a school every day-but had to go because of my major(no Spanish classes where I work.) Everything is online-including the meat of his lectures and practice quizzes-nice!

If this is the man that came up with that damn New page then I give him two thumbs down. He treated NewPage as if it was freakin serious. Kiss my a$$. New Page was a complete waste of my time and the other 2000 freshman. Lord I feel so sorry for anyone who failed it last semester. The University needs to do away with Newpage and resign Dr. Allen.

The lectures at the Ted don't have anything to do with what's on the online quizzes that half the time don't work anyway. This class is a joke and everyone taking it and the GAs know it
