Comment:

Professor Olson is generally a good teacher. He claims he is not fond of statistics, but I found no evidence to support this claim in his teaching style. He teaches at a reasonable pace and truly wishes for his students to succeed. If you know the material, his tests are a breeze.

I love Dr. Olson...class is pretty easy IF you're good at math, but if you're not, he makes things clear. Make sure to go talk to him if you're having trouble...he wants students to do well. Funny guy too...wears some eccentric shirts!

Run while u can! This is a man that doesnt let u review tests to see what u did wrong, clarity is horrible, doesnt make himself very available except on test days, and made it known that stats wasnt interesting to him anymore and it was very reflected in his class and in how he taught- a nice guy, but this isnt the prof. u want& im a smart kid!

I am honest to God awful at math and he made all his lessons really clear. He quit with the pop quizzes (we only had 3 quizzes all semester) and about 5 homework assignments. Spends a week at a time per topic and tells you how to do things slowly, step by step. Highly recommended!

horrible. any teacher that walks in and says 'what are we doing today?...i wish i knew' is NOT off to a good start. he doesnt grade the homework, and the graders dont know what they're doing. he sucks. plain and simple.

I felt like I truly learned a lot in his classes. I think he teaches very well, and if you visit him during office hours he will help you discover the answer yourself. He's one of my favorite professors at John Carroll and as a math major I highly recommend him.

We've been reviewing stuff that my MT122 never covered, stuff that is not in my MT122 book, nor in /his/ MT123 text book. This guy assigns experiment designs for homework; due the next class. What's worse, if you don't have access to SPSS you can't even do it. Worst professor I've ever had.

Not a big fan of him. Shot down every idea I had. You self-grade yourself for every class, quizzes on every presentation, and essay tests. Everyone that I talked to said their FYS class was easy. Once I told them what we had to do they fully agreed with me that its prolly not a good idea to take him

Wretched. Half of my stats class dropped him. No other professor makes this class as difficult as him. We have had to take tests multiple times just so the whole class could get passing grades. Please please please stay away.
