Comment:

Professor Raney has had a huge impact on my life. The size of his character and the passion he has for his students is astounding. While I sometimes find it hard to come to class, once I'm there it I find it very easy to slip right into the material. He effortlessly makes his students drip with the same passion he so clearly possesses.

I've had Prof. Raney for a short time, but i can already see why he's so highly recommended. He's a great conducter and sometimes humorous. I am having a great time in his class and i hope he keeps teaching!

Earl did a fantastic job with this orchestra when he took it over, he does amazing things given the varying levels of the players in the chamber orchestra. He stretches us and motivates us to become a much better orchestra than the players are individually.

Earl is great, we only meet once a week, and there are no tests or pressure. He's really entertaining and everyone has fun. I don't think he's arrogant, he's just really good and he knows what he's talking about. He's extremely talented and can hear a wrong note way in the back. Picks good music.

Demanding, arrogant, abnoxious - didn't seem to care about what was best for the people already in the group when he took over. He was all about his own vision.
