Although he does mark hard, he prepares students for MUN. I've done many other English courses at MUN, and I can say that he is truly a good prof! A definate must for anyone planning to pursue an English degree, I wouldn't be where I am today if not for him! Just don't hesitate to ask for help!

Dr Balsom is a great prof. He is tough, but he is just trying to prepare his students for other english courses. Not a great prof for those not considering other engl courses, but a must for those who are. A great and friendly man

Besides that he looks like Master Spliter he not a very good teacher! He's a horrible grader and it is unbelievably hard to tell what he's looking for in an answer. Avoid his course at all cost, just a little heads up!
