if youre a soc major then i highly recommend this class because it will prepare you for your teir two classes. looking back at this class, it has helped so much. Dr. Nelson teaches his course as a soc course rather than a g.e course. if you're looking for a fun easy soc class as a non-soc major, this class isn't for you.

Stongly suggest choosing another professor. His class was extremely boring and if you looked around the room there was someone sleeping. Made it very difficult to want to come to class. His grading criteria was unclear so I couldn't get a soild grade on my papers. There were study guides for the tests and you basically had to learn on your own.

Lectures are boring and very slow, but you have to pay attention to understand, he uses powerpoints which helps and you can access at home. there are 7 pop quizzes if you listen to the lecture you'll ace them.8 extra credits, 3 exams, 2 papers. Papers are easy As describing tables revolving around one topic. Exams are easy if you listen to lecture.

His lectures can get a bit boring, but pay attention. He covers all the material from the book in his lectures and offers about 8 really easy extra credit oppurtunities. 2 exams, one final, and 2 papers in which you're just creating tables and describing them.

this class isnt that bad. He does give study guides but theyre hidden on bb. hes pretty much giving us all the answers for our papers, which are not that bad. he does move on kinda quick so pay attention. take the extra credit, they are actually pretty easy, still taking this class. READ THE BOOK!!

Not even a hard class, I had a C because I wasn't trying then when I did put in effort, I brought it up to an A. Only thing is, he is a very boring teacher but if you have to take him because his class is the only one open then just do it. He gives 8 extra credit ops so take advantage. Helps if you ask for it.

Just take another professor. I'm an A type student and got a B in the class... Literally so boring and makes us too much it's just an elective smh. 2 long papers tests with no study guide. Boring lectures!!!

He is stand-offish but you can tell he is trying his best. Lectures are boring, but he posts his lectures on the computer in the lab so you can work ahead. Gives ALOT of extra credit which can bump you up 8%, but it is a lot of work. Class is actually not that hard. Essentially holds your hand through the two term papers. Is there for office hours.

His lectures are super boring and he doesn't really care whether you attend his classes or not. There is a pretty lengthy paper you have to do as the final, but it's really easy if you attend the classes that he talks about it. You're on your own in this class. He's not very good with helping his students and there are a lot of quizzes.

Very confusing professor. He does not help at all with the papers due in class and does not know how to explain what to do he assumes we know as such as he does but his lectures do not make sense at all! It's hard to pay attention because he's so monotone . Overall try to get some other professor because will not learn anything in this class.

If you don't know anything about sociology, this teacher will not keep you interested. Lectures are BORING, the whole class looks bored out of their mind!!! The power points really do help,he does offer EXTRA CREDIT, and attendance is not mandatory.

Definitely a math teacher (ie boring). Material from PowerPoints and book, a few quizes in class, but could be learned without so much time. Comp program used needs to be learned though. Super ready to help people struggling, offers time out of class. You shouldn't fail this class even if you suck at math, you will ace it w/moderate effort otherwis

It's hard when you just can't focus. He lacks everything especially when you need to interest your students to learn. He speaks very monotone making it even more boring! Even when you try to focus and just do the work, how can you when you don't understand it? You try to BS it, but he'll comment something like come talk to me. Overall, AVOID him!

He is the most boring professor ever in the universe!! He just stands up there and lectures non stop the whole class. Althouh you attend this class everyday it depends if you are good at taking good notes only. Your grades are usually base on your quizs and tests only.
