Comment:

Ed Stermer is a phenomenal professor, but his classes arent the type to slack off in. His tests are strongly focused around his lectures and his teaching style involves drawing pictures on the board. Stermer is hilarious and his classes are interesting, but get ready to earn your grade. Hes genuine and easy to talk to if you need help!

Professor Stermer is amazing. He draws pictures for his lectures instead of just writing sentences or using powerpoint, which helps you visualize the material better. He's very funny and makes lectures fun & interesting. However, it is a tough class and you will have to work hard to receive a good grade. Skip class & you probably won't do as well.

I took this course as a mini-mester and it was INTENSE! There is just no way around it... when you are taking a 4 credit hour class in 14 days it's going to be crazy! With that being said, this was definitely a great class to do it with. Professor Stermer is a wonderful professor he is so funny and truly loves what he does.

He's a tough professor, but if you put the work in you will learn SO much. His lectures are amazing, and he draws pictures instead of using a powerpoint. He is open-minded, and is willing to work with you outside of class if you need help with something. I'd take a class with him again in a heartbeat.

He loves to teach but is not good at it. He is all over the place, small handwriting, and only says things once. Four exams and an online final plus a group project at the end that saved my grade. I wouldn't take him again

Professor Stermer was the hardest prof I've had in my time at ICC. I am a straight A student and got a C in the class. I went in for help every week, and he seemed annoyed by me coming in. I studied over 5 hours for the first test and did every review sheet he posted, and I got a 65%. He teaches by drawing pictures and going off on tangents.

He is a great teacher with a lot of heart. He really cares about his students and is very understanding in the case of a problem. His lectures are interesting and he brings humor so it is never boring. Out of all the Earth Science professors, I am very thankful I had him.

Mr. Stermer is an excellent professor; probably my favorite! He really cares about his students and helps them to succeed and is very willing to help if you ask. As he says, it's hard to get an A, but it's difficult to fail as well. Attendance is mandatory because of his lecture style, but hes very engaging so you should not dread going.

I'm 54 now and have had alot of teacher in my life, He is the top 3 teachers I've ever had. His classes are fun to take but very educational. I would take any of his classes without hesitation.

Professor Stermer is an amazing teacher. His lectures notes are done in picture form instead of words which makes it way easier to remember and understand things. His review guides are long but if you do them they really prepare you for the test. Plus, he is hilarious. His lab is good too, easy to understand and he is super helpful.

Ed is a good teacher, the class is not necessarily easy, but he gives hw every week to help compensate with the tests. He is funny, which makes the class interesting. The 2 hour required lab is a pain, it really sucks but you have to do it. His tests cover notes and book material. If you're ok at science it shouldn't be that hard.

Originally signed up for his class & the school switched me out because there were too many people. Had him as a sub & he was great. I would've come to his class every day if he was my teacher. Super intelligent, makes witty/brainy jokes that are hilarious. Learned more from him in 2 days than from my teacher all semester. Take his class!

I wish I had taken him for EASC 111. There were two class periods that he filled in for my actual professor and it made me rue the day that I chose to take someone other than Stermer. He is HILARIOUS, he makes it fun and easy to learn things, and he is so much better than the other EASC teachers. I wish I would've had him the whole semester :(

Comment:

He is funny and is pretty clear in the lectures however he is all about drawing pictures for his notes which is something I cant learn from. He is pretty straight up about grades and his tests don't match up to everything he puts on the review sheets. Science isn't my thing but I liked him. If you have to take this class take it with him.
