One of my fav professors...he's INCREDIBLY knowledgable about ancient civilizations. He's laid back, approachable, funny, and helpful if you get confused. Just skimming the textbook readings works (he wont test you on them), but you'll need to refer to it for the essays...he grades them hard. Not a blow-off class (i took honors) but very enjoyable!

He's a cool guy. His tests can be confusing, but not too difficult. Classes are always lecture and he posts the power points on the net. Helpful guy with a moderately easy class, although it's easy to slip up on an assignment or two and get a B.

Classload is moderate to heavy. Tests are explained before hand so you generally know what to study. Assigns a lot of homework and never collects it unless he says it will be graded... Though doing it is very helpful. Lots of memorization. Also it is important to note that he assigns no percentage of grade to class participation, only tests.

ive had dr cueva a number of times already and i have discovered there isnt anything he doesnt know about ancient civilizations. he is very articulate and detailed. he is organized and he respects his students. he does his best to get people involved with discussions during class, so be wary. but he tries to inspire people to participate and think analytically about the material. and his dry humor...out of this world.
