Professor Folts is a decent professor, with fairly interesting info. Each class is a lecture with a lot of notes and you are expected to read your textbook outside of class. The only grades in his class are from the three tests he gives throughout the semester, and you won't be able to see your overall grade until the later part of the semester.

Dr. Folts is pretty boring. He reads directly off the powerpoints and puts them online after class. Since he doesn't take attendance so it was pretty pointless to go. The tests have some ridiculous questions on them as well. Only 3 exams that make up your grade which is annoying. I'd suggest someone else for SOC 1000 if you can.

Folts is probably the most boring professor I've ever had. Strictly goes off the power-points (which is also an eyesore) and never addresses the class. Terrible sense of humor, and exams aren't even that easy either. I would personally advise you to take someone else.

Worst professor Ever! I had to drop his class to maintain my GPA. He makes you wright 4 papers but hates them All! I got nothing out of his class! He hates women and thinks we are all stupid! If you have any sense please please Avoid this professor!

I took the honors version of this class and I had to drop it if I wanted to maintain my good gpa. The only assignments are 4 essays and he rips everyone of them to shreds. I cried because the comments he would leave on them were so degrading and rude. Avoid this teacher for honors at all costs.

Avoid this "professor" at any and all costs! Perfect example of the saying "those who can do, those who can't teach". You would have thought the freshman level online course I took was for a Masters degree. Degrading, pompous, and uninteresting. Would love to buy this guy for what he's worth and sell him for what he thinks he's worth!!

I absolutely love Dr Folts. When he taught he had the ability to make me understand everything he said and make me think about it. He has 4 tests and takes the top 2 highest grades. No homework. Classes missed/total#of classes=10% of final grade so cant miss any. Go to class bc test comes from whats said and the powerpoint. He makes it easy to go

Comment:

Quite possibly the most degrading, pompous, ****, and downright insulting individuals I have ever met. His big-man-alpha-male complex is completely on display 24 hours a day. His attitude alone makes what he has to say downright hard to understand or take in. Judges people and is very intolerant. Take someone else for sociology, anyone.

His class was not too hard. No homework, and the only grades we got were 4 test grades. Just make sure to GO TO CLASS. He gives test questions and answers to those who are in class. Most of the time his class was interesting even though he lectures everyday with a powerpoint. I would recommend him to anyone.

His class is only hard if you don't look at the study guide he gives you. I never read the book, on the first test I got a 68, the second test an 88, haven't gotten to the third test. Also coming to class helps, sometimes he gives a pop quiz and gives you the answers. He also gives answers to bonus questions on test. Very helpful.

The people complaining about the class probably didn't read the text book and/or study. His class is REALLY easy if you do those things. He takes several questions straight out of the book, so read it. I thought he went out of his way to relate to us and be nice. I still remember and use a lot of the stuff I learned in his class.

Worst teacher ever! Total jerk and thinks too highly of himself. Can't even talk to the guy without him trying to make you feel stupid. Tests are impossible and he trys to trick you with miss spellings. Tells stories that he thinks are funny but their not.

He is hard. His tests are mutiple choice but they are impossible. He knows every thing about sociology and expects you to as well.This class requiered way to much time for an 1000 level class.Your lucky to get a C. He will not give a study guide or narrow down what you need to know. Don't take him. Their are much easier professors. VERY un helpful

You are in trouble if you take his on-line class. Especially if you like feedback, as you get none. He does not answer e-mails very often either. The class consists of some short reactions and then 70% of your grade will be a 15 page term paper. Would not recommend.

Classes weren't hard to pay attention too and it didn't get boring but his tests are HARD!! He will have no problem offending you in class either.
