Professor Hack is awesome! I learned so much from him. I became a better writer because of him. He explains things thoroughly and will gladly help you if you ask. I would recommend any student to take his class. Make sure you get to his class on time though because he takes attendance.

Prof. Hack is efficient, kind, and patient. He truly LOVES language, and he loves teaching it. He's extremely intelligent, and well versed, in many topics. His knowledge of language is thorough; he knows etymology. If you want to learn how to write, and think, clearly and logically, he's your man. Furthermore, his lectures are fascinating and fun.

Don't take him for British Literature. Makes the class harder than it needs to be. If the class doesn't participate he gives quizs every class. Quizzes are very hard because he asks questions only he would know and understand. Very critical on essays. Don't expect to pass this class if you take it.

he's an overall great professor. explains every single thing in great detail. he likes to talk and u never get out early but u learn so much from him. gives u 2 and sometimes 3 chances to rewrite papers so u always do well. no tests, takes attendance so show up an youll do fine.

I love this professor. He is very dedicated to his students and wants to make you interested in writing. He does want a paper for every week but that is because he wants you to practice your writing. First of all, I have a lot of say about this guy. He is one of the best CATW preparer in CSI. He has been teaching English for 43 years. He knows his S**t inside and out. He wants a lot from you, no frag and grammar mistake. I highly Recommend people to take him for English 001.

This professor is the BEST professor at CSI. He is genuinely concerned with whether or not his students are actually learning. Stays with any student after class to go over their essays and really helps if you're lost. Yes, he does give a lot of work, and he will tell you that himself, but you'll become a stronger student from his class.

Probably one of the best teachers I?ve ever had. Very intelligent! As stated by others, def a lot of work (around 1 paper per week) but he is extremely helpful. After he hands back your paper the first time, he will go over your paper with you and explain how/where you went wrong and how to fix it. I def walked away from this class smarter!

Professor Hack was probably the best teacher I've ever had. As many others note, his classes require a lot of work and good time management. Everything was in the rewrite. Very smart, very helpful, very hard professor. He wants students to be able to write well, and will make you rewrite. We do a journal every week, a paper or quiz every week, read about 200 pages every week, and be expected to contribute. Books used were The Iliad, Odyssey, Theogony, Gilgamesh and a lot more. Must read. I loved this class :)
