This professor is an amazing lecturer. The down side is that the class 3 hours long and you will be taking notes the entire time. Attendance is mandatory if you want to do well. I did not do any of the readings and passed the course with a B+. Tests are very hard they include short answers, multiple choice, and essays.

AWESOME! the best prof ever - makes history really interesting, helps you A LOT whenever you ask, remembers your name, knows everything (at least it seems that way, and if he doesn't, he hides it really well!) readings are hard, but not essential PERFECT!

Total polymath. In addition to knowing everything about history, philosophy, literature, etc., he has the equivalent of a BSc in Physics from Harvard. It's enough to make the rest of us physicists jealous ... if he weren't such a great prof.
