Ok so, Prof Linky is a good guy, but his class was god awful. All you do is sit there Tuesdays and Thursdays and watch a movie. There is little lab papers due every Thursday but they take .2 seconds to do. There is a take home midterm, 1 research paper, and 1 field trip paper. If you want an A take his class, but be ready to be bored.

There are no labs, just 3 field trips. Each class is 2 hours, 1st hr he talks and 2nd he shows a video. One of the most pointless classes. He does not grade according to the syllabus, but rather what he feels you deserve. Personally think there are better science courses where you will actually learn something. Theres one midterm and a presentaion.

If you are looking for an interesting science course, this isn't the one for you. He speaks very low so it's hard to hear him. His tests are based on reasoning rather than facts. But instead of labs, you do 3 field trips which is a plus. Overall, not a good investment of $45,000.

really a wasn't hard class at all. He has dry humor but he tries to make the subject material interesting. Lectures for half the class, then you watch a movie for the second half. no hw, no quizzes, 1 midterm, and your final is a project and presentation. NO LABS!!! FIELDTRIPS INSTEAD :)

He's interesting...it seems as if hes not happy in life. He's got a negitive outlook on life and he seems to think he knows everything. He's smart do get me wrong but does not teach well. Class is usually very boring, although it's not terrible.

This class is more of a "Dangers of Global Warming" class than oceanography. I find it more interesting than oceanography anyway. There aren't actually any labs, which is nice, but you are supposed to go on 2 field trips on your own time. The test is an essay, but he doesn't grade that hard. If you write something decent you'll get a B

I didn't go very much, but that's because his attitude made me dread the class. Instead of positively encouraging us to learn, he constantly informs the class how stupid and wasteful our generation is. Assigns 3 field trip labs instead of an in-class lab which was great. Exams are essay style and kind of obscure.

Terrible professor. He chose favorite students. He decided to add requirements to assignments after they were handed in and wouldn't take any criticism. I strongly discourage you from taking his course as a part of your core.

This guy is nice. But he is kind of boring. Speaks low, you can barely hear him. He gives 1000+ handouts in addtion to the book. He shows like 100 movies.TESTS are kind of hard because you cannot prepare for them from reading. You have to reason. AVOID!!!

His exams are based on reasoning (he has a law degree). Can't really prepare for them from book and have to keep awake through all the borring movies. If taking this as a core requirement i would highly avoid!!!
