Tests are tough, but not impossible. Study with a buddy and study well. Loved Schmoll's sense of humor. Textbook only used the week before each test to study.

I would break myself financially to keep taking his classes. The day Eddie retires will be a dark one indeed for academia. If you're willing, and you try, he will teach you things which extend far beyond the classroom. I cannot recommend any professor to experience above him. In short: get to know the man while you can!

I had the pleasure of taking Greek mythology, 3 semesters of Latin and Latin for medical terminology from Dr. Schmoll. While a thoroughly enjoyable lecturer, his test made sure you knew the material and were graded on a cliff. However the time he made available outside of class and the life lessons he taught were invaluable, even 20 years later.

Dr. Schmoll is very passionate about what he does. He will make jokes about death and tell you about his upbringing during class discussion. He really is a great teacher and will easily become one of your favorite teachers at Concordia.

He's very funny and class is interesting, but you have to essentially teach yourself Latin. There hasn't been a full class period yet, so you're teaching yourself a dead language out of a not so helpful book. Take this class if you're good at languages naturally.

Dr. Schmoll is the BEST! He truly cares for his students and will do anything to help you! His class is so fun, there was not a day I didn't laugh. His test are a bit difficult but he wants you to succeed so he does everything he can to make sure that happens. There is barely ever any homework (just studying). HE IS AWESOME!

Great teacher! He knows what he's talking about, and gives you a study guide for tests. There's pretty much zero homework except reading a chapter once a week, but you learn more about ancient history than you would otherwise. He's also hilarious and honest about himself. I would definitely reccomend.

He is an amazing professor, no better way of saying it. He combines the best elements of comedy and clarity in his teaching style. He is more than willing to help you out if you need it, and treats everyone fairly. He single handedly convinced me to change my majors to include a latin major! He's truly that good.

Oh professor Schmoll... Very hilarious senile old man. Great guy, super helpful. Tests can be quite difficult in History 301, but note taking is KEY in that class. Makes class fun, lets you out early almost everyday, but has dificult tests.

Schmoll is a good professor and I think he really does want you to do well. But his myth tests are ridiculously hard. He almost seems to think its funny that ppl strogle with them though. Don't take this class if you think it will be a fun easy A. It may be fun; but it's not easy.

This class was very hard and abstract, but that's because of Dr. Gilmore. Dr. Schmoll was awesome! He knows everything, and he is hilarious! He is more than willing to help you on a paper, or simply visit at the post office. Dr. Schmoll is one of the treasures of Concordia! Take anything you can from him.

He is so funny! You just have to pick up on his twisted sense of humor. He really makes the class way enjoyable, especially because he's real about what needs to be done. He is so nice and friendly. Bring your plastic knife to class.

I was lucky enough to have Schmoll during the only year, I think, that he taught Greek. Loveable personality, incredible stories, especially Nikos, and just a guy that you want to be around. Method of teaching Greek was a tad shaky, but we knew what we were supposed to.
