Professor Thomas is the man! He assigns hw every day due next class but it is short and to the point. Explains concepts in simplest way and is super clear. He always encourages office hours. He made a dreaded proofs class easy and enjoyable. He also makes a little joke once in a while, funny guy.

AMAZING PROFESSOR! I am REALLY BAD at math and I still got an A- in the class. He is amazingly easy and he actually makes math fun at times.

Took classical algebra. Got an A. 2 exams, and about 30 HW assignments to be handed in every class. He is the easiest professor because he goes over what will be on the mid-term the day before the exam, so make sure you have all the right answers to HWs, and study what he tells you and you'll get an A. Best professor in dept. Take anything with him

The easiest math that is offered, he allowed an entire piece of paper for notes to bring to the two tests. mid term and final. mid term was 7 questions , final was 6 . sooooooo easy.

Don't let the color bar fool his rating; ET is the best professor in the department. He challenges his students as mathematicians and makes them earn their grade. He 'dumbs down' the most complex ideas into elementary learning concepts and I strongly recommend taking any class he offers.

Professor Thomas brings complex mathematical concepts down to a level that's understandable for all. I took him in the late 90's and he never made students feel inferior if they didn't understand something. He simply clarified any misconceptions.

It disturbs me that people are actually complaining about ET. Yes, his classes are very easy but easy doesn't mean you aren't learning. So he moves a little slower than most professors but I don't know anyone who prefers a professor who just rushes through everything and skips steps.

All around nice guy. Let's you bring a reference sheet for the midterm and the final. Homework due at every class and goes over it at the beginning of class. Highly recommend this professor. Best math professor that I have had at the University.

Don't really need the text. GREATEST PROF AND CLASS YOU WILL EVER TAKE!! He is such a nice old man and goes SO slow which is a nice change. Cool ideas, RIDICULOUSLY EASY class!!! TAKE IT!!

Love this man!!! He's so precious. 1/3 of grade is homework, 1/3 of grade is midterm, 1/3 of grade is final. Homework he goes over the beginning of every class then u hand it in after so you should get full credit on that. both tests you're allowed to bring a reference page with equations on it. Definitely recommend him even if it's early, worth it

He's a nice guy, and has a great teaching style. But he's way too easy. Practically does the homework for us and lavishes praise on the class for doing the most basic stuff (That's amazing, you guys still know how to integrate by parts! Spectacular!) Take this course for an easy A, not if you want to learn PDE's at the grad level. You won't be pushed at all in this course.

i had him for a couple classes. he lays out EXACTLY what you need to about the subject and any procedure things you need to know about solving problems. gives you exactly what you need to know for a test and even uses examples from class on his exams. honestly, if you don't get an A in his class you might be brain-dead.

If they could only clone him. The best math teacher at SUNY period. No-nonsense teacher that will not put up with any bullcrap, but will patiently help anyone that needs it. Made the subject both fun and interesting.
