Comment:

Dr. Glisan is a wonderful professor. She is always willing to help. She does give a lot of homework assignments, but these do help boost your grade. There are few exams and a couple of easy quizzes throughout the semester. She focuses mainly on teaching you how to speak, not how well you test.

Comment:

Dr. Glisan is an amazing professor that really does care about her students and their learning. She is a really tough grader and does assign a lot of homework. However, she is truly a person to be respected and inspirational. Her class itself is never boring and always is very engaging .

I am convinced that Dr. Glisan is the only professor at IUP that gives a crap about her students. She has made Spanish enjoyable to learn, and I wish I could continue taking her. If you are lazy, don't expect her to hold your hand. She makes you work for your grades, which I respect in a professor.

I would definitely take Dr. Glisan again! She has a good teaching style and I can easily understand her when she's speaking Spanish to the class. She makes you participate in class, which was challenging for me as an introvert. But if you show willingness to participate you will be fine. Classes are small & she makes a point to get to know everyone

Comment:

With Spanish, it's either you get an easy teacher where you learn next to nothing, or a more challenging teacher where you actually begin to understand the language. Glisan is one of the best, hands down. Interactive and interesting class. You definitely have to put in work, but for the amount of knowledge you leave the class with, it's worth it.

No one is as dedicated as Dr. Glisan. You can tell she really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She is a tough grader, but you learn from her feedback and become a better Spanish student as a result. Just make sure you participate, it is VERY important to do so in this class! I would take her every semester if I could!

Dr. Glisan is very nice and helpful when it comes to spanish, and definitely an expert. She gives A LOT of homework, and grades it and everything else pretty harshly. Work hard and you will succeed. YOU MUST HAVE BOTH TEXTBOOKS!

Dr. Glisan is a true inspiration. When beginning the program at IUP one can't help but think.. "I can't do this". However with her expertise, guidance, determination and honest student interest, one can. As a recent graduate I cannot be more thankful for having been educated by her, and this shows in my professional practice and community.

The work load is a lot, however you learn so much by the end and it's so worth the time and effort. Attendance is mandatory, obviously. You can't learn a language if you don't go to class. I highly recommend her, you won't regret it. Also, be sure to participate a lot in class to get full participation points!! She's serious about participating!

Dr. Glisan is a wonderful professor because she teaches by example. She was very helpful when I had her as a professor and even now that I have graduated an am looking for a job! Any time I needed help she helped me and always supported me. As a recent graduate of the Spanish Ed. program, I feel proud and confident that I learned from the best!

Dra. Glisan is an amazing professor. There is a large workload but the end result is well worth it. She is a tough professor and grader but she does it to better you. After the semester is over, and you have had Dra. Glisan, you will realize you learned a TON. They call her the best for a reason. Don't cheat yourself, take her class.

If you're a non-traditional student(older, have a family, have a job, returning for a 2nd degree), don't expect her to be understanding. I nearly quit my Ed degree because of her and her attitude - if you didn't drop everything in your life to do just HER coursework. Thank goodness I had an advisor who told me to ignore her arrogant ways and finish

Dr. Glisan is the most amazing professor in the world. She truly cares about her students and their success. She knows what she is talking about and does a great job of conveying it. Dr. Glisan is by far one of IUP's best assets. She knows her stuff and truly cares about her students. Her expectations are high because she wants you to be the best you can be. I'm a Spanish-Ed major and have had Dr. Glisan for several classes. She tends to go too fast for me, I cram to learn the material for the test and then forget it. So, I never really get a lot out of any of her classes. She's also a bit intimidating and a lot of her class is busy work. Overall, not the best prof at IUP, but not the worst either.
