Subject matter and reading are tough, challenging with a ton of philosophical theories but this course and this prof will change your life & how you see the world/your place in it. Def don't take to feel smart & cosey - prepare to feel wrong & not significant at all at times.

A genuinely brilliant and engaging professor with a lot of original ideas. She teaches a LOT of theory, and explains it well. Some of her classes are hard to sit through, not because they're boring, but because she deals with a lot of heavy topics. She also marks pretty easily, very much encourages creative thinking, and gives great feedback.

I've taken many classes from Dr Chang but her online course in repetition and culture studies stands out as the best. She's brilliant but humble and down to earth. She's able to make complex theoretical concepts accesible to us without dumbing material down. She's funny and warm and kind, and gives the best feedback on assignments of any prof.

Lectures are mandatory as 15% of the grade is participation. Her grading criteria is minimal and usually unclear but she marks easily it seems on the papers. When it comes to the midterm though be ready to struggle.

I had a seminar and a distance ed class with Prof. Chang. In both classes she was extremely helpful and prompt in answering emails. Her classes are interesting, thought provoking, and very well constructed. She allows the student to grow throughout the course, rather than forcing them to retain useless information. Definitely my favourite professor

I absolutely loved her seminar this semester - she is certainly one of the best English professors I have had thus far. If you attend her class and take notes on what she says, you will do well. She gives very detailed assignments and her grades are fair, as are her comments. I hope I will be privileged enough to attend her class again soon.

What an amazing Prof. I had heard bad things before I took the class, but all I can say is wow! She is so smart and helpful. She is a fair marker and sets fair assignments. Easily one of the best English profs at Guelph (the reading list was amazing too!)

I wish she'd say more about what she thinks, but that could be because she gives students all the class time they want to express their own ideas. She is a very kind, very funny and VERY smart lady, and her feedback on your papers is the best you'll ever get at Guelph. One of my fave profs, too.

Had her at Rutgers, hands down the best teacher there. Knew her stuff inside and out, always supportive and interested in what we thought. There were ****, **** students in the class, 1 jacka** who came late and wore headphones during lectures! She handled the morons with STYLE. I teach now and have even more respect for her. Brilliant, classy.

great prof! she was nice, down to earth, and gave me suggestions for texts to use in my final research essay. is a little intimidating just cuz she's so smart, but encourages students to have thoughtful discussions. she expects a lot and should (4th year seminar). interesting lectures and easy to follow as long as you've done the readings.
