When you first meet Sharkova, she's sweet. She has a nice personality at first, but she can be really confusing. She can be very narstacistic and she especially likes to call people out, literally (e.g. "you with the purple shirt!!!!") She will not deal with any complainers or whiners whatsoever. If she doesn't like it, better get it right or else!

I found this class which IS required for all us propectie eachers to be both informative and fun. I have her for alumni chorale so know her quirks and stuff and have learned to live with them. Pretty easy class for better musicans like i believe myself to be. No I am an instrumentalist by my training here at SJSU.

Most amazing guest conductor ever! So motivating, uplifting, and really challenged our choir to portray the emotion of the songs. She made me love choir and she was a strict, but very fair adjudicator at Golden State Choir Festival.

I never had her in College, but i was a member of the All-State choir in Missouri. I've never met a more motivating, infleuntial, amazing person in my entire life, i doubt i will ever meet anyone like her again. She is truly an amazing woman and i loved everything about her! Her passion for music is so evident. she's breathtaking.

I think I would love to hang out with this teacher outside of class. However in class doesn't explain what she wants out of the choir very well. She's very unorganized. She takes her stress out on the class and expects too much for a class that is only one unit and that ALL vocal majors are REQUIRED to take.

I absolutely loved this class! The pace of the class was perfect and I learned so much about theory and piano playing. The class is challenging but much fun. The homework is reasonable, the concert papers simple, the performance quiz easy, and both parts of the final very, very easy. Just make sure to practice and read. For serious students only.
