Professor Faber is a nice guy who is very knowledgeable.. However, he assigns fairly long reading assignments which he barely reviews during his lectures. He will assign approximately 50 pages to read, but will only cover 5 of them. It was annoying how he used the excuse of being the Dept. Head for not handing back old assignments back on time.

He's a great teacher keeps you entertained. You do have to do the reading or be a really good guesser you have 10 quizzes with 10 multiple choice which is 50% of your grade. He keeps you wanting to learn more though attendance isn't major

Faber is cool, alot of reading. easy quizzes once a week. The only negative is that he will go over stuff not at all related to the reading/hw. so you basically teach yourself. A harsh grader but overall easy class. 1x week quiz on reading, midterm, final, and 4 writing assignments (1pg). hes a decent teacher if you need to take HIS 231.

He is a great teacher. Political conservative, yes, but always fair, and his politics do not affect his honest account of historical analysis at all. He is hard, but he is fair. We need more like him at John Jay, maybe then we'd have some educated graduates.

he's not bad @ all.if u read the material and follow his advise by answering the questions in the book b4 each subtopic u should be ok. he gives about 3 tests and a paper (book he assigns). the tests will be hard if u havent read the material. SO READ!!(b/c most of the multiple choice r based on reading material;essay questions based on lecture)

He was an amazing professor, who is only deemed "conservative" because he doesn't take liberal stances when presenting the facts about history. Too many students want to hear the liberal opinions of professors, instead of facts! Wake up everybody, professors are not paid to indoctrinate students into their particular belief systems!

Faber was a good teacher.True, you do have to master the reading but he helps by making his lectures as clear as possible.I didn't master the reading but I'm a history buff and I got an A-. Wasn't to hard for those of us who actually love history. He's also very arroachable, so if you have questions you can talk to him

He has an unpractical form of grading; 20% Midterm, 30% Paper, & 50 Final. The multiple-choice questions on his exams are worth 60 points and most of them are formulated to trick you. His historical facts were proven wrong by other students on many occasions. His lectures do not coincide with textbook material (which you are to "MASTER"). I’m an “A

Midterm is 20%, Paper is 30%, and Final 50%, seems a little unfair. You've to master the reading otherwise you wont pass. If you read, then its not that complicated. Faber, is very smart man

He may be hard, BUT if you do the reading, he is fairly easy. Its all about understanding what you read and applying it to the discussion in class. He is not rude, but he is academia. So if u think he is rude, his not.
