She is awful. You have to write essays in class on a test day. Material covered may or may not be on the test. She is very rude and degrading towards students. She teaches nothing in class, just spends the time telling you what museums to visit and where (which is on the test btw). Been at Valencia 1.5 years now, worst teacher hands down. STAY AWAY

Comment:

She is a great professor. She's very knowledgeable and loves what she teaches. Some may be bothered by the fact that she gets offended when people with use their cell phones in class but it's common sense, both in and outside a school to pay attention to someone who's speaking to you. I would definitely recommend her :)

WORST Teacher I ever had. Super rude. You have three test that you have to write a paper for each one. Hardest grader ever on papers. If you need a hum credit do not take her. She treats you like you in high school and will make you feel stupid. STAY AWAY FROM HER. DO NOT TAKE

Amazing Professor! I've taken 2 of her classes, and signing up for more! She's very passionate about Humanities and History. Her lectures are very engaging. You do need to read the book to engage in class. 3 Tests/Essays and 1 Project. Miss her class and you won't pass. Pay attention and take notes in lectures!

I would definitely take her again if I hadn't already completed my humanities credits. She is so knowledgeable and passionate about history that she makes the lectures very engaging.. and very interesting. The class is easy. If you don't attend, you won't pass. She makes up the tests. 3 tests, one project. Tests are easy as long as you listen.

Very inspiring. She's very passionate about humanities, and I'm considering getting a minor in it after this class. Attendance is important, you need to be there for all of the discussions, and you have to read the entire textbook if you want to do well on the tests. 3 essays, 3 tests, and a group project are the only assignments.

Best teacher ever. So sweet and really passionate about art and history. She makes it fun and interesting to learn about both subjects because her lectures are actually entertaining! Her tests are so easy as long as you actually engage in her lectures. She's really easy going, super helpful and always in the best mood. TAKE HER you won't regret it

She's passionate about what she teaches, but gets very off topic and spends an entire class talking about something that won't be on the test. When she assigns papers, she's not very clear on what she's looking for but if you email and ask she will clear it up a little. 3 tests & a final with an essay for every test.

Shes an alright professor. She often gets off subject during her lectures. Her tests are pretty easy as long as you study. Her study guide is just a list of names & places so make sure you read the chapter & take your own notes. Her papers often require you to critic famous artwork. Do not use you phone & be on time. You're graded on participation.

This professor was amazing, her class wasnt the easiest but I loved her lectures. You have to study for her quizes and test but if you listen than there is nothing to worry about. She enjoys talking and hearing your personal opinions. If you want an easy A this is not the class for you though, dont text or come in late.

Professor Esch is an amazing teacher who is passionate about what she is teaching. Yes her lectures may sometimes go of on a tangent and be a tad boring but YOU DO LEARN. She is down to earth and always ready to help or re-explain anything! She makes sure you know what is going on in the world as well as the importance of the past! TAKE HER CLASS

I really enjoyed this class a lot!!!! She is so passionate and excited about the history and stories behind the subject that class was never boring. There are writing assignments (it IS a Gordon Rule class!!!) but they aren't excessive. A few in class quizzes but if you actually listen in class they're not too bad. Would definitely recommend!!!

Best professor ever. I was literally very eager and interested to be in her class every class meeting. Her tests are super easy if and only if you pay attention in class. I promise you you will enjoy taking this class as much as I did and you will actually learn something not to just pass the class, but out of interest.

She's awesome. She is so in love with the subject she teaches. Her class is a little difficult because you have to play close attention, study, and try your hardest. It comes easy after a while because you end up really caring for the class and actually wanting to go. Definitely take her if you want to learn and not just "pass a class."

Very passionate about her course material. She originally came across as strict. Yet, I she truly was kind if you put in the effort. Read the chapter. Proofread your essays. One of the best teachers I have had so far. She is so passionate about her teaching. She is friendly, she is helpful, she is kind and overall very intelligent. She comes off a little strict at first but once you get to know her she is very kind. I loved her and it was hard to walk away from her the last class of the semester.
