Comment:

Had her for Phil 130 at Loyola University Chicago. Not a big fan of phil, but she made it enjoyable! She has such a quirky personality& tells jokes. Gives a lot of e.c if half the class is missing. No tests- just weekly reflections& a few essays that you can redo to gain back points. she finds pdfs so there's no need to buy books (at most 1).

You will not be disappointed, gotta say one of the few professors who care for you as a person rather than a student. Such a good person and a professor that is laid back, understanding, and interesting. I love her so much, hopefully I can take another class with her.

I took her for a good portion of my later part of undergrad and am bless to have her. She is an amazing, inspirational, and there for the students type of professor. The material of course can be difficult but thats what class is for. It will become 10x clearer when present. Email her your papers and you will have an exceptional advantage.

Dr. Hoppe is quirky, but very helpful when it comes to explaining the various philosophers. She knows what she's talking about for the most part. She jokes around with the class and makes learning about a bunch of dead philosophers funny. Highly recommended!

Hoppe is such a nice and helpful lady. There is work to do for this course, but it is very, very easy PLUS she is an extremely easy grader. She tries to make the class as interesting as possible. Like I said, she is extremely nice and a great teacher to take for Intro to Philosophy.

I took Dr. Hoppe for many many classes, she is intelligent, clear and she is FAIR! For those of you complaining about attendance GO BACK TO HIGH SCHOOL! You are in college to be smart and learn! Dr. Hoppe lives up to the requirements of the department. She changed my life, I was a pilot, now I am a philosopher!

Lecture class! She tries to make it seem like it isn't by having you talk in small groups sometimes, but overall it is a lecture class, and a boring one at that. Dr. Hoppe definitely knows what she is talking about, but the class is almost the same thing day after day - she talks, you take notes.
