Speech could have been a really great class, but it just wasn't. She is very moody, and when she's having a bad day, she seems to take out her frustration out on her students. If you decide to take her class, make sure to stay on her good side by staying quiet and off your phone in class. I would stay away from both her and Ellen Kelly for speech.

Professor Morrell is a great professor. She is my speech instructor and does her job right. She gets the class into groups and gets us to socialize with each other. She teaches the material an makes it understandable. Any anxieties about speaking will be lifted

She is very helpful and obviously wants her students to do well, she accepted assignemnts from some students that were 2-3 months late. She did not like others talking while she was or during speeches which is understandable.

Fun class. I worked hard for my grade. If you're not use to talking before people, expressing different emotions, and being able to read clearly it will be a tough class for you. She goes out of her way to help every student. Put work in and its easy. No books, but you do spend a lot of your out of class time looking for poems, short stories.

Honestly this class was a piece of cake, class is boring. speeches are easy unless you dont like to talk in front of people. She hates when people talk in her class and she will put on blast in front of the class if you do. she gives a little homework but its easy. and she talks alot for no reason. She has people read her powerpoints sometimes.

You dont need a book for the class. Only need to do 3 speeches and 1 other speech that you have to do off the top of your head. Practice your speech before hand & make a powerpoint for easy visualization and you will do very well in this class. Hates when people talk when she is talking so be quiet Lashed out on our class several times cause of it

Seems like she could have been a wicked fun teacher. Moody, Ignorant, self absorbed. If she allowed more student input, the class would be a lot more fun. She can't let go of the past, doesn't take constructive criticism well at all. Treats students as lesser than she, and grades based on her relationship with you, and her present mood.

This is such an easy and vile class. All you have to do is make some speeches, and sit in class bored out of your mind as other people do theirs. Morrell is a good teacher, tho all the class is is to get people to overcome their fear of public speaking.
