Beth Pearson is passionate, caring, and makes lectures and lab fun. Biology is a tough subject but she makes it manageable and does everything possible to set the students up for success. Just a little effort in studying notes is typically enough to get good grades on the 4 tests and the weekly lab quizzes. One group poster project easy points

I definitely would take her class again because her notes were straight forward, and she made us laugh during lecture which is rare to find. Her tests are based off her notes, but I used the book to help solidify some concepts. Really good teaching skills and her office hours are helpful. Give good amount of extra credit to help students out.

All of her exams are based off of the study guides she posts online. As long as you take good notes and pay attention you'll be fine! She really does care for her students so if you're having trouble, she'll help you out.

I literally just showed up to lecture and took notes. I used her study guides and only studied about 1 hour per test, and got perfect grades. Her tests are straight from her lectures (which are literally amazing!), you really don't need the book. Beth is super nice, really funny, really easy to talk to, and really cares! And, no cumulative final!

I never bought the book, her lectures are all you need. She writes notes on the board and that's what's on the tests. Doesn't go too fast and always answers questions. Very understandable. Made me happy everyday. Botany is a different kind of topic, and it's not simple or an easy A, I worked hard for mine. One of the best professors I've had.

Beth is an amazing professor. I took Botany lecture only this semester. On the first day of class she warned us that this class wouldn't be an easy A and she was right. If you want an A, you'll have to STUDY. She provides an extensive study guide for each test and removes anything the class didn't cover. 30 points of extra credit available. Do it.

I loved professor Pearson's class. I would have taken her again if I had to. Her lectures are reasonable, & easy to understand. She is very easy to go up to & ask for help. I hated biology, & I dreaded the fact that I had to be in class and lab right after that. But she made her classes fun, and asks for feedback. Definitely cares for her students.

Beth is awesome! I LOVED taking her class. She loves biology and is super passionate about teaching. Try and get her for your lab section too. If you take her class in fall, she will talk about the Green Bay Packers a lot, but it's funny. Do the study guides, all of those questions are on the tests. You should definitely take her class!

Beth Pearson is a great teacher. You can tell she really enjoys what she teaches. She is always willing to help genuinely cares about her students. Her tests can be a little tricky, but if you study the notes, presentations and the lab book you should be fine. She doesn't really use the text book, but it is a good tool to have for referencstudying

Professor Pearson is very clear in how she teaches. everything that is in the lecture notes may be on the exam. She does not test on information that has not been covered. There is one group project at the end. She drops the lowest test grade.

Beth, a brilliant person and passionate professor. Take the lab and lecture together, you will thank me later. In non majors classes she doesn't expect to make experts just knowledgeable well represented budding learners. She takes a qualitative approach to grading, applied knowledge is essential. Plenty of room for make ups and extra credit.

Beth is, hands down, one of the greatest people working at Palomar. If you don't understand her material, then you're either ditching class, or not doing the work. She's very clear, offers help, and knows and practices her material in the field. Didn't need the book, attendance not mandatory but if you miss a class, you miss a good chunk of info.

Write down everything that she writes on the board. Lecture power points are all posted on blackboard. I didn't purchase the book but I recommend you do for studying purposes. Do the study guides! Some of her test questions are tricky. Flashcards helped me. She offers a make up exam at the end of the semester. Excellent teacher and explainer.
