Comment:
Not the best class I ever took, but Eliza DID try to make it enjoyable. She LOVES writing, but ... she's very scatterbrained. Often times she goes off onto irrelevant tangents. The assignments were random, and most of the class time was spent listening to her painstakingly read our poorly written prompts back to us. Also a heavy editor!

Fantastic professor who loves what she does! She loves to teach and drops bombs of wisdom explaining the origin of common concepts, terms, and styles that I would've never questioned before. She pushes you to explore the artistry of writing and produce authentic, raw work. Easy A if you are genuinely engaged and keep up with her writing assignments

Not a very enjoyable experience... She wants to change the way everyone has learned to write so dramatically, she gives you a list of words you are never to use and a list of things you are never to do. We saw some Juilliard Performances, which was fun, but she drained the life out of my enjoyment of writing. Also lets the class out late EVERY TIME

Used to enjoy writing, the class is okay because the pace isn't too fast. She is an editor and it shows when your papers are handed back.

No major comments. I lost all desire to write and felt like I was treated in a condescending manner due to the fact that I am an art student.

She is incredibly unclear in all of her assignments. She would assign something to our class and then make EVERYONE redo it a completely different way, but would never think it was her who was incorrect. I feel horribly failed as a student. Pratt students pay far too much to be ridiculed and treated like idiots by people like her.

Additionally she did not inspire me at all, I found the assignments rather boring, she did not keep the deadlines at all either... People skipped her class a lot and did not pay attention... still passed... If You want to bore Yourself to death take this class...

I had my assignments always done on time and I always took part in discussions but when it came to grades she "I think I will give You B, and I think you should be happy because as for an immigrant is is an awesome grade..." I do not have to mention that I studied English since I was 6 years old...

I enjoyed reading all the other comments, but the truth is, that this teacher made me hate English (which I always loved) and she accomplished it in 4 months. She is very inconsistent, forgets what she assigned, and grades in a very bad way.

Professor Williams is the sweetest lady! She tries really hard to make the class enjoyable, and is VERY understanding about late work. Take her if you can: especially if you're an architecture major!
