If you're looking for a challenge, take one of her courses. Did not have much interest in poetry or prose until I took her class. Tough grader, head of the honors program--she expects the best and will make sure you give it. Gives many oral quizzes, so do your homework. She's brilliant.

one tough lady. she talks down to students, and one day when she called on a girl in my class and she got the answer wrong she mocked her. I'm not to fond of being afraid of my professors, and never had that opportunity until now. As for how well she knows her stuff, she's very good but hard to understand sometimes.

Dr. Casey was arrogant and puffs herself up like she won about every book award in the western hemisphere. Truly unhelpful on a personal level, she talks down to students and then seems to wonder why she can't "reach" them....hmmm. I would stay away if I were you.
