Comment:
Emerick was the worst professor of my freshman year with Foundations. Sweet, but very opinionated, a pushy feminist inconsistent, and loves to argue AGAINST facts. It could be 90 degrees and sunny and she will argue it's snowing, then fail you. Attendance doesn't matter to her which is the only good part. I will NOT take a history class with her.

Do not take her class. Currently in it and it is terrible. She grades impossibly and she asks open ended questions only looking for one specific answer, and even if you are right, she marks it wrong. Does not seem very educated in history at all. She is also a feminist and a liberal and makes fun of conservative viewpoints.

She's basically all over the place and can never stay on topic. Her grading is incredibly erratic and any papers you will turn in will be torn apart. She gave everyone a C or worse on all of our papers. Don't suggest taking any of her classes.

Student with a 3.7 GPA and she ruined it by giving me a C. To the students who care about their GPA for post-grad degrees, don't bother taking her class.

She's approachable and all but she has the worst memory in the world. She makes you write papers and gives you a feedback and when you edit your paper according to her feedback, she changes her mind again and literally make you write your ORIGINAL draft, claim that you're wrong then gives you a bad grade. Do yourself a favor & don't take her class.

Dr. E is a fabulous woman. So kind, funny, and helpful, but as a professor I found her frustrating. She is unclear about what she wants, but she wants you to do well. I think she'd be great for a gen ed history course, but upper level work with her can be exhausting.

Dr. E is an amazingly fun professor, but you have to be active to enjoy the class. The text book is pretty useless, but she doesn't require us to use it too often. The topic papers are a bit difficult, but she gives really great feedback.

You can tell that she really knows her stuff, just not always how to teach it. She's a big fan of small groups, which is not much fun. She only picks a few topics she really enjoys and teaches them in obscure ways. You don't learn about people or places, but mostly about general concepts. Her grading method is ridiculous to understand.

Truly makes history interesting, in her own sort of way. If you don't like tests then she is the professor for you! She has quizzes each Monday, but if you prepare they're not bad, and instead of tests she requires two papers which you can conference with her about. I would suggest her if you don't mind putting forth a little effort.
