Comment:
Dr. Judd is overall a nice prof but can be condescending at times. When it comes to the material, get ready to read. Reading and understanding the major texts are a must to pass this course. She does not give any notes and you must attend class.

It's refreshing to have a prof teaching a first year course that doesn't just hand out freebies. Be prepared to have to really learn the material and actually read the textbook. While she doesn't go easy on you, it is very rewarding and you end up learning much more than you would with any other prof.

Dr. Judd is probably the most eloquent professor I've ever had in university. The pro is that her eloquence is inspiring in a way that makes you want to go deeper in understanding the class material to catch up with the level of her discussion. But the con is that her discussions and lectures are almost always decipherable.

Unfortunately lectures are very dense and quite difficult to understand what she means a lot of the time (at undergrad level). Be prepared to do a LOT of reading and writing- her tests are only exam questions based on the readings students do outside of class. She has very calming, monotone lectures which are interesting but very VERY sleepy

I didnt know what to expect, I'd just heard she was intense, which i took to mean difficult. But, she is very fair in her marking, and provide deep insight to the work she assigns. very helpful class, especially for anthropology.

Ultra-brilliant woman, which means that she's tough to understand. Tests are tough, but if you do well in her course you know that you've really learned something that will stay with you.
