Very enthusiastic about what she teaches, this whole class is about Brazil and not just gender. Didn't have much interest before taking the class but now find it fascinating. Theres not much written work except for two papers and you must read every night and make comments. Fairly easy and enjoyable class.

Horrible. I dropped the course because it was such a waste of my life. Excepts you to read three books a night, plus texts for class. She had about three shelves of books on reserve for her classes in the library. BORING! Reads her notes and doesn't explain a thing! I didn't know that someone could make the Aztecs and Incas boring! But she does.

Dr. Kintz is the most amazing professor ever. VERY enthusiastic, loves anthro, cares about people, truly values student input. INCREDIBLY KNOWLEDGEABLE. Wouldn't recommend if you aren't an anthro major- A LOT of work, have to be passionate to enjoy her lectures. Books by her in the lib. Amazing prof, sad shes retiring. Shes a Fulbright scholar!

I like this prof a lot, but her take-home exams/papers are ridiculous! Kintz is amusing and has great stories, but the papers are the bane of this semester for me - too much work. grr. At least she's an easy grader.

Dr. Kintz is a unique teacher, her style is erratic and eccentric, but I still learned alot, and thouroughly enjoyed each class. there are only a few assignments for the class, and the papers take a while to research, so don't wait until the last minute. great stories and is very nice, lots of tangents....but makes class more interesting.

Horrible professor. She reads the lectures off of a sheet of paper. She is hard to approach and expresses her strongly feminist views all through class. Tests aren't too hard. The class could have been really insteresting but her teaching style made it hard to pay attention and stay awake.

I didn't really have to go to class to do well in it because there were no tests, just 3 papers (using only the text as a resource) and a final poster. The subject matter was interesting, and I liked her stories, but her lectures were very boring. If you can write a decent paper, you'll do well.

She is very knowledgable in her field, which in turn makes the class interesting. It would be better though if she only taught using what she knows rather than what the book tells you. The books are extremely boring so watch out! Overall, her class is fair, hard but not too hard.
